How close to WWII did you get?

we have talked abut using this rule set before but my opponent is not as familiar with it.

Just bought the two 1940 games, and I definitely recommend buying the boxed games. It’s just a whole different feeling; opening up the boxes, setting up the pieces, etc. Really makes you more immersed in it.

Yeah a US IC would be ideal but how long would it take them to get there and build it?  Would it be too little too late?

UK could build one quickly but could they afford to build the IC and then produce units out of it?  What would they give up to do it?

Russia could take them quickly and they need the income but could they hold it?  I know this is a weird idea but suppose Russia were to take them and plow the money back into a Soviet IC, then build a couple infantry units there each turn.  The extra income would help it pay for itself and they get to deny Italy or Germany the oil NOs.  Or they could just build a coupld mechanized infantry each turn and drive them down from Volgagrad (2 mechs cost $8, which is what USSR would get if they can hold Iraq, iran and Syria)

The copy of the Alpha +2 rules I have don’t say the 30 IPC’s that the US originally got for being at war, were now divided between the NO’s in the Alpha +2 rules. So just wanted to make sure.

In the original OOB rules, the US gets 30 IPCs each turn as long as it holds the continental US.  It’s a NO.

In the Alpha +.2 rules, it’s similar but it’s more split up between the different US territories.

I recently played a game where I rushed to gibralter through Spain. I also attacked Turkey and Sweden with Germany. I eventually lost the game though. However, the decision to invade true neutrals was out of desperation as the axis were already in trouble, so I believe that if you build your strategy based on taking these neutrals as opposed to doing it on a whim, the axis can turn it to their advantage. So many more options become available with the geographical positions of these neutrals. That’s just my 2 cents.
