@panther Thank you for the link. Unfortunately, I have finished translating the whole rulebook, but I’ll be sure to use if I ever translate the 1940 and 1942 versions. Right now, I’m going to work on the Anniversary version instead, even though I don’t own that version (nor the 1940 and 1942 versions). Thank you very much for your help.
Island capturing rule
-
Got a quick question about island capturing before i play a game this weekend:
:? In regards to the island unit rule discussed on page 9 of rule book, i would not be able to perform an amphibious assault on Okinawa or Iwo Jima in SZ45 as long as there are Japanese units on the island of Japan??The way I interrperupted the rule is that all land masses in a seazone are apart of the same island Landzone. The board just broke them up for the aesthetics of the map

See the rule:
@rulebook:
An island or island group is a territory located entirely inside one sea zone. A sea
zone can contain more than one island or island group, but each is considered one
territory with its own name and national emblem. You cannot split up land-based
units so that they are on different islands in the same group.Iwo Jima and Okinawa each have an own Japanese roundel, so they are different territories you can invade once the SZ is cleared.
The territory of Japan itself is a group of Islands with one name and one roundel. So you have to consider Japan as one territory.
