Got diced in a huge way, again. It would be nice to play a game against you where the dice don’t decide the game so early…but…maybe it isn’t meant to be.
Dude, you have NO IDEA what getting diced even means. It’s not about losing a few planes in a single round. Getting diced would have meant losing all 5 planes and the French fleet survives. taking ONE extra loss in a battle is not getting diced.
I’ve been diced in games where I had a 99% chance of winning and STILL lost, costing me the loss of FIVE BATTLESHIPS in a single battle. Then I lost two other smaller 98% chance of winning battles….LOST THEM, and it changed the game.
And considering you had offsetting luck in Round 1 where you DIDN’T LOSE A SINGLE PLANE, I’d say it kind of evens out. I have never not lost a plane when I clear out the British navy.
But losing a couple of extra planes? Not even close. Look at the battle scores. The worst I see is -2, not -89.

Sorry - losing any planes in G1 with my attacks would have been hard - you hit twice out of 3 in both cases as it was. I was just bummed to lose 3 planes when I should have lost maybe 1…

You bring up a good point - and that is the battle scores. I should look at those more closely - but, do they always really show the story? Yeah, if the score is +9, that might mean I still got creamed on the dice, right? I am curious - is that something that you and other players look at more overall?

I guess a part of my point was that those were Round TWO loses, with none in round 1. That’s always the risk of attacking with nothing but planes…any loses will be planes.
Battles scores basically add up the IC value of the casualties, but it’s still a fair indicator of who won. Since there’s only a few rolls, smaller battles are more prone to not going as planned, but they should still average out across the whole game. I’m sure as Germany there will be other only planes vs. 1 or two units. If you lose a plane for every such battle, then you’re getting diced, but you can’t make that claim for awhile.
It’s when the giant battles don’t go as planned that I have a real problem with, that’s why I try and keep any major battles above the 90’s for chance of winning.
