I recommend that you implement a standardized bidding system to speed up the number of emails before a game starts discussing how they will bid.
Rules such as
-bids can be used to purchase units pregame and can be saved and added to a powers starting ipcs
-bids can only be placed in territories or szs that contain another unit of the same power
-if the teams are going to be bidding up or bidding down. (I prefer bidding up)
-if there is a limit to the number of units that can be placed in a territory.
-if the bid can be given to any power or must be for a specific power such as all bid ipc must be used for ussr or all to Anzac.
-which team starts the bid such as which ever teams name is listed first on the bracket or, roll a die on the server, or my favourite whoever starts the thread first starts the bidding.
-or just leave it up to the teams to figure it out themselves how they want to decide teams. So teams can do goofy things like"we will play allies if you give us a Russian battleship"

I tried to define a bidding procedure in our round2 match, here. Garg said this was indeed the correct way, so you can use it as well. It’s still only if both sides agree, else there should be a diceroll to determine sides.

Current state of tournament to my knowledge.
Congrats to Djensen and U-505 on their victory. They played a glorious Axis game of roughly fondling the Allies’ genitals.

Interesting that out of 20 completed games so far, 14 wins were for the axis side. So with a growing sample of games, each played under the same conditions and with some more and less experienced players on each team, it looks like the axis side is twice as likely to win so far (i.e. 2 thirds versus 1 third).
Gargantua, do you know who we should be playing next? It looks like the speedo/threats game never took off.
Vance, you guys should be up against the losing team of Game 20, Fighting Mongoose or Invisible Greens, which I don’t believe is decided yet. Barring any admin changes by Garg, of course.
As for Little Threats and Speedo Hares, I don’t have an answer to that. The game never started in their thread from a month ago it seems. Someone should check on them. Allweneed? You have someone to pester.

i have sent personal messages to all parties asking if they are still interested in/enjoying the tournament and still plan on playing.
I’m still in, everyone else seems to have dropped or disappeared.
Since the next round isn’t populated there’s no reason to call our game yet.

So if LB and I don’t hook up and do our game by the time the bracket ahead of us is populated, then LB will default and I’ll play the next bracket.
