Thanks for the link to the other game - I’ll go have a look now.

Zhuk is an accomplished A&A player, and it seems Dragon is pretty good too (I haven’t played him yet, nor have I really watched any of his games, but am going by the results of his games against players I do know a bit about).

I need to review the other round 3 tournament games before too many more days pass.  Before a move was made in any of those games I would pick Yoshi over Joe and Zhuk over Matt, but I don’t know about Anchovy vs. Dragon.  I would lean toward Anchovy, but I think whoever gets better dice would win that one.

I am not aware of who is winning each of those games (except that Zhuk won with a lucky defense of Japan or he would have possibly even lost).

And, of course, I predict that I will handily defeat JWW.  (Fully aware anyone can read this)  :-)

Looked at that game.

Z2 - never seen anyone attack with only 1 sub and 1 fighter.  I attacked JWW in Z2 with 2 subs and a fighter and lost everything, and he lost nothing.
Z9 - that’s a big setback when you lose both boats in Z9 to a sub.  I try this with Germany from time to time
He took a lot of hits in the other battles.  The way you were talking, I thought he only took one or two hits.  Look at my G1 in Tourney round 2.  It’s not often you can clear Egypt and Z2 both at once, but I did with 2 tanks remaining in Egypt, and lost nothing, not even the sub, in Z2.
Tourney round 3 vs. JWW he got a way better G1.  He couldn’t attack Egypt because of the bid, but he only lost 2 infantry and a sub.

2 fighters against Z12 is also too light.  And he did get hit once.
So yes, I’ve seen better G1’s, and very recently.  Don’t you agree?

Note that against DD I did not attack Z12 nor did I attack Z9.  I can’t believe anyone would go for Z9, Z2, Egypt, and Z12 all at once and clear them all.  It’s way too risky for my tastes.

JWW left Z9 alone and Egypt because of the bid, but cleared Z12, Z2, Z6, Ukr, EPl, and BSt with, as I said, the loss of 2 infantry and a sub.

yeah, that’s what I’m saying, he went for ALL 4 battles and won them ALL!  i should have just conceded right then probably, and save us both (especially me) a lot of effort.  of course, I did learn a few things in the game, so I guess it was not a complete waste.  I am hoping he will allow me a rematch so I can see if it was just his incredible dice that won it for him (they didn’t stop with G1).

Yes, I see.  He cleared them all, but he did lose quite a few units in the process.  But you started UK1 with zero transports, which hurts.  And I hear you about the luck after G1.  Can’t win 'em all, especially with dice games.

Sweet dice for UK5 round - it’s settling in to a really compelling game I think.  TUV for both sides is close, and incomes are close.  Game should look close for several more rounds…

Gamer, it’s starting to look like I may need this game to be complete by Nov 1 to count toward my 10 game requirement, do you think that may be possible or should I see if I can get another game in?  I know we said it would move slowly, I’m just asking if you think it might be possible.

Definitely possible.  Not a sure thing tho.  Depends on a lot of things.  If you want 10 you might want to pick up another with someone who will play you daily.
