• I will begin work on a Stalingrad game. It will take a while as I am still in the process of finishing off Thunda down Unda. I need to re colour the territories and finish the IPC values.

    I dont know if you will like this, but how about special rules for artillery in your STALINGRAD game. Like Long Range Bombardament. The Germans were probably hammering that city with heavy artillery for days. what do you think?


  • Yeah I will  give the Germans some cards or something which they play to get bombing and artilery attacks. Eother cards or Dice rolls

    I like the rule from AAA D-Day, where ART could fire into adjacent territories for the first round of Combat.

    On the backburner for like 4 years.

    The bottom right will contain a blow up map of Stalingrad. Most of the German VC will be located there. The conditions will be something like AAP, where the Germans get 1 point for every 10 VC points they collect and if they reach X number they win. Ultimately this is a game where the Germans will lose, if it was permitted to go on for unlimited turns. Germany has only the opportunity to perform batter than they did historically. The game features a set number of turns ( about 10)

    Reinforcements are per historical, with Germany starting with more and the Soviets having more coming on.

    This is classic Elephant vs Ants style scenario.

    The rails are cosmetic.

    This is Germany, plus Hungarians and a few others vs. Russia.

    On a specific turn Manstein appears as does some elite SS units.

    Soviets have a few goodies.

    The game does not have techs, but the Soviets get Katyuskas and infantry can become ‘sniper units’

    Germany gets special units and Mansteins forces. Also, the game uses the battle of the bulge ammo and fuel chits.

  • I’ve been working on a combat system using IL’s pip system.

    I have tried to make it more specialised with armour being able to survive more hits from inf than arm. Although I still would like to see if this is what people want.

    My idea was inf 1d (die) 1p(pip) in land
    1d 2p in City (for street warfare harder to kill)
    Also I thought inf could take 3 inf hits (headshot rule for snipers)

    Although I have been looking to mkae it a bit simplier I will post all that I have done later.

    Please add coments about More involved combat system

    Sniper
    Infantry (Rifleman)
    Machine gunner
    Tank
    Fig
    Bmr(Germany only)
    Art (Germany only (maybe please post if you know that the SU had Art at the battle of Stalingrad)

    Also I plan on creating cards such as:

    Combat initiated
    Reinforcements
    Bombing raid (Can only be used before a combat intiated card)
    Artilitery launch (Can only be used before a combat intiated card)
    Sneak attack

    Each card will have some pictures of the battle and the SU or German symbol

    Bombing raids and artillery occasionly missed so there will be rules around that and also if they bomb or use art they must attack next round and so the SU defendeers gain an advatage because they know that the Germans plan to attack

    Alll cards will have advatages and disadvatages

  • Yes so they wiull help defeat the bmr support by fig

    Bmr raid is supported by figs but rellies on german cards to get enough air to use so the game will be quite indepth and I will look into gameplay things like this before creating the map
