AARHE: Technology Questions

  • If you have “Long Range Aircraft” & “Heavy Bombers” do your Bombers now have a combined range of 10?

  • Yes indeed, Japan can now bomb western USA, Germany can bomb eastern USA… 10 spaces!

    thats a cool rule IMO

  • “One progress box of a minor technology (3 or less progress boxes) may be selected for transfer between US/UK and Germany/Italy/Japan per direction per turn.”

Trying to get this straight in my head.  So can the Axis do this in one turn:

Germany can send a box of Rockets to Italy AND Japan (e.g., total of 2 boxes)
Japan can send a box of Advanced Submarines to Germany AND Italy (e.g., total of 2 boxes)
Italy can send a box of Advanced ASW to Germany AND Japan (e.g., total of 2 boxes)

for a total of 6 boxes of tech per turn…

Or is each country limited to sending ONLY 1 box per turn to an ally of their choice.
Germany can send a box of Rockets to Italy OR Japan (e.g., total of 1 box)
Japan can send a box of Advanced Submarines to Germany OR Italy (e.g., total of 1 box)
Italy can send a box of Advanced ASW to Germany OR Japan (e.g., total of 1 box)

for a total of 3 boxes of tech per turn…

    HELP!

LOL hell no!  The axis as a team can make ONE transfer of technology per turn. So one axis nation can transfer one successful tech per turn. You posted all sorts of transfers, but the rule only allows ONE per turn. You cant loop them on piggyback method. It does not work that way.

Or is each country limited to sending ONLY 1 box per turn to an ally of their choice.

NO again… only one box from any two axis nations, not three or two.

  • The exact wording is “per direction per turn”. So what Bierwagen said can be done.

But if its too powerful we can change it. Though AARHE tech is generally progressive rather than sudden and reactive like OOB. So I didn’t feel its too powerful.

If its “per team per turn” then that sounds like if Japan sends technology to Germany, Germany won’t send technology to Japan! In reality isn’t “trading” tech secret the more likely case?

  • Its supposed to be limited to one transfer per turn per side.

Germany can transfer one level with Japan

    or

Italy can transfer one level with Germany

    or

Japan can transfer one level with Italy

    PER TURN

repeat the same with allies except USSR cannot transfer (send or receive tech transfer)

  • so you don’t want to model trading tech secrets?

  • we just did that. what other way seems more historical?

  • by “trading” I mean like you help teammate to gain a progress box and in return they give you a progress box

if the transfer is limited to one per side
after UK help US with one progress box of ASW tech on turn 3
US have to wait til turn 4 to return the favour with a progress box of LRA tech
and also UK can’t help US with another progress box of ASW on turn 4 but have to wait til turn 5

  • so what do you think of the example

you sure you want the technology transfer to be one-way per turn?

  • It DOES read one level of technology transferred between one SIDE per turn.

so if axis as a group obtain 4 tech slots, only one level can pass from one nation to another that turn.

Soviets don’t share or receive secrets.
