Ok, all it took was reading further. It’s my own d$%#&d fault :-)
Answer to your questions:
1. I’m a G4/J3 or J4 Axis player. It wins me many, many games. It’s pretty much against the grain from what everyone else does, and usually catches people off guard and they don’t know how to react to a patient Axis.
2. The incentive is keeping the US out of the war (which was why my German fleet is exposed in 91, Japanese fleet off Borneo exposed) until US 4. It keeps the US from landing off Africa, and it completely isolates Russia. I’m a G11/G12 (or later) Moscow killer, not a G6 or G7 like most.
3. I completely messed up. I have no argument. I have no excuse for not knowing the rule. So I’m at a loss. I think based on my positioning, and what you know about my Axis game now, you can see why I was positioned as I was. Frankly it’s an embarrassment.
I think Germany has to be what it is. I moved to 91; so be it. Dice have been rolled on Japan’s turn. However, no dice have been rolled for the US turn. I’d ask that I have the ability to do Japan’s NCM over. I think since dice were rolled, they should to be kept as is. I don’t remember who got the better of the turn. I’ll end up losing a German fleet I never meant to lose, and probably a Japanese transport off Borneo.
If you look at my positioning, if I knew I’d be at war with the US, I generally would place Japanese destroyer blockers in SZs 55 and 46. It’s a signature move of mine if you look back at any of my Axis league wins. I aggressively buy destroyers and block, block, block. If I had realized the US was in the war, I would have used them this way.
I also feel that beyond redoing my NCM you should have some consideration sent your way, because you’re letting me off the hook, basically. How about if you get a non-capital reroll at some point when you’re on offense, no questions asked.
I feel like at this point I’ve already shot myself in the foot in this game, and will have an uphill battle. I’m a pretty conservatively aggressive Axis player, and don’t generally expose important fleets to attack.
All of that having been said - I’m actually interested in how interested you are in my slooow Axis strategy. I’m 6 - 0 so far in league play using it, and expect to win every game I play with the Axis using this strategy, dice being equal. I’m not saying it from hubris, just from experience. When I don’t eff up ( :-D), it’s a tough method to beat for the Allies.
