    Its still tough to win as Allies with a successful Sealion.  Of all the times I’ve done it, I’ve only lost once in Alpha 3.

    And as an Allied player, I’d rather have UK in the game than not.  I don’t understand how some people actually want Germany to take London.  If someone gives it to me, I will take it.

    I didn’t run the odds here, but I’m guessing they were in the 80% range?  I knew you would watch for it, especially after the aircraft losses in sz110.  I figured you had to do a max defense, in which case I decided I’d hit the UK fleet.  Best way to build up Italy, I figured.

    I was very happy you did not try to do a hail mary and hit Alg with your 1 French inf.  That 1 man could have ruined my whole plan.

    Did you mean to leave the 5 infantry in Bulgaria?
    Maybe it’s to smash Greece or something, but if you wanted to move them to Romania, I need to know that before doing Russia.  I don’t want your strat screwed up by a 3:00 AM oversight, so just pointing it out for you to make sure

    I was so focused on Sealion I didn’t even consider what you would do otherwise.  Figured if you hit 92 with an air strike you couldn’t do Sealion.  Will be tougher for you in Russia in the future without the fighter and 3 tacs, but of course you got the UK out of everyone’s hair.
    Wrapping up Italian NO’s with machine like precision - I’m taking mental notes.

    I’m in a decent position in that I survived in Paris with more than usual.  Makes up a bit for the plans, I suppose.

    Probably depends on USA preparedness in Atlantic a lot, right?  Obviously I did no preparation on USA1 whatsoever.

    Me too, although I would think that if UK puts up a good defense (9 infantry on UK1 and max on UK2 with reinforcements from Med planes, etc) that Germany would lose most of its air and Russia would be untamable if played well.  But I don’t know much until I play several games - only what I’m extrapolating from past 1940 experience.

    Without SBR damage (or any bomber losses), because I forgot it was more viable now, I had you with pretty poor odds (well under 50%) of succeeding, so even if you did, you would lose almost all air and take it with 1 tank.  I approximate AA guns by calling them bombers in a calc, and maybe adjust something else since of course they can’t hit on a 1.  But I would also count TAC’s as BMB.  So I had it with 11 INF, 2 ART, 9 ARM, 3 FTR, 5 TAC, 3 BMB vs. 26 infantry, 1 ART, 3 ARM, 1 TAC, 3 FTR, 1 BMB, 5 AA.  I probably could have blocked bombardment.  That puts you around 10% of success, so I was quite safe, I believe.

    With an average SBR run, I calculate around 25% chance of success (and that’s surviving with just one tank and no air at the 25% mark)

    Looks like you chose well to forgo.

    Odds were that low, huh?  Landing in Scotland wouldn’t have improved it by much, then.  I suppose I could have looked at a turn 4 Sealion.  I’ve only ever done that once before.

    I certainly wouldn’t have bothered with those odds.  But of course, now you see what I wanted to do.

    Now I’ve alway had difficulty with the Japan first attack.
