@FMErwinRommel yes…my usual tragic rolling with the Italians. Took a gamble on the sub strike which would have been a great result for the axis but didn’t expect it. The Malta battle was a conmplete farce which should ahve been an easy win…my hopes are not high already. But as you are now a rank 1 player I get points even if I lose! :joy: :joy:
@FMErwinRommel Could realistically only do malta or tobruk, thought malta offered better strategic results taking a NO off of UK and eliminating the bomber…ho ho how wrong was I!
Wow, I am a rank 1? I’ll have to check out the league results spreadsheet. That won’t last long, I am losing badly to Owentoo and have no chance of winning. My game with Suprise Attack is a toss-up at best.

@FMErwinRommel Your bomber managed another hit! Killed the pesky thing at last though. Sorry about the delay in replying…hadn’t noticed you had posted the ANZAC/French go :face_with_rolling_eyes:
Best/max defense in Malta would have taken the bomber first and leave the infantry. Wouldn’t have affected the second round, as defender rolled a 3. But defender rolled a 2 on the third round, which would have killed your remaining bomber, for mutual destruction. Given my low odds after you inflicted a hit in round 1, best defense was the logical choice for my last remaining unit. Please take your remaining bomber as a hit. This is a straight forward adjustment that doesn’t require re-rolling the battle. Sorry, I know Malta has been costly for you.
Destroying the Brit bomber in Malta and sinking the dd in sz99 reduces the Brit chances of sinking the Italian fleet in sz96. In my game with Owentoo, he also attacked the Brit CR in sz96 with the entire Italian fleet, even tho his transports attacked Gibraltar unescorted, so he didn’t need to put the whole fleet in SZ96. UK sank it but also lost its fleet, with just planes left. But Italy, with massive support from Germany, went on to dominate the Med and finally captured Egypt. So don’t underestimate your chances so early in the game.
@FMErwinRommel The point of the attack in malta was to kill the bomber, which is why I left him instead of the inf. If I had killed the bomber first round I would have retreated both bombers away. So me having one bomber die was actually a very good result for you…max def would have saved my dead bomber. We can edit yr inf back and my bomber…or leave things as they are…your choice! :relaxed:
Makes sense, logical that your attack without ground troops was meant just to get my bomber. Thanks, I will keep the results as they are.

Made an edit because I got my fighter attacks mixed up…planes from the phillipines carrier should have attacked java and landed in sz 42…planes from the borneo carrier should have attacked malaya and landed in sz 42 as well.
A good delaying tactic in the DEI…should have enough manpower next turn to collect them though
