If that was not the correct choice, let me know.
The infantry weren’t a threat to the Axis holding Egypt … the UK bomber is the presumably the main (possibly only) reason that Germany decided to risk its aircraft in Belgian Congo.
If I took the bomber as a round 1 casualty, then Germany could simply retreat rather than risk trading air to kill the last UK infantry.
Since I can’t force the German’s to roll a hypothetical round 2 and get another shot at them, saving the bomber would make more sense to me in this case.
Better to risk losing all units than to guarantee that the Germans accomplish their objective.
