WWII: The Struggle for Europe and Asia

Hi Micoom,
This is one game that I have not grown bored of. I have been part of the playtesting group for nearly 3 years. Essentially, I have tried to “break” the game or come up with some sort of “master strategy” for both sides and so far I can’t make any claims to this. Once you get a game or 2 under your belt (which really gives you a good feel for the mechanics) and you are playing with others at your same level, the strategies are almost countless. Plus - the game has a very historical feel to it - but this is NOT to say you need to follow historical guidelines to have a successful game. We have had many very interesting and fun ahistorical games.John

you chaps want to post a complete game on this forum? I think it would be illuminating for others to see how this game plays out. At the very least it will demonstrate how the game mechanics work.
-
I’d like to see it played out. Ive reap some of the games on the boards that Craig Yoper has posted, and It really seemed interesting.
I might be convinced to get a copy, I’d like to expand my strategy gaming past Axis and Allies, Risk, and any rules sets ive thought up. I just dont know where id put something that big, and it seems like It needs a LOT of pieces from many different games, which I dont have.
-
This is not true…
if you own milton bradley and revised you can come up with 85% of the units you need. about another 30 bucks on ebay and you will be home
-
I dont own the original, but I know somebody who does, and he’s the one Id most likely end up playing this with. So I guess its not too bad then.
-
Sure - we’ll get together a group of images showing an example of how a full game plays out. Stay tuned…

ok good.

We actually have not had a chance to play a full game and photograph it turn by turn yet. If it is ok, here is a link to images of a game played over Thanksgiving - but we did not photograph the whole game. Will should get a chance to put a full game up within a month or so.

I spent 30 minutes following that…nice game. Can’t wait for the finish.
-
Yeah - me too. I had to leave early and Mark took over playing Germany for me. I am curious to see what he did with my panzer armies.

The game photo’s are always a real pleasure to look at! Really curious on the outcome of this one.
-
Well he can download the rules on PDF from the site.
If he wants to buy the map Ill sell him mine for 160.00 plus shipping of about 15 more. Its flawless because it was only played twice in the same session and then rolled up and put in the tube.

The final pictures from the Feruary 3rd game are finaly posted - you can see the whole game documented with pictures at:

Looked like a very nice game. Only it seems that Italy played the best on the Axis side… And Japan the worst… maybe because of Strong Chinese or just bad production… Anyway game looks awesone, i know that now.
Anyone else but Yoper, playing this game? Or thinking of going for it??

Well, we returned from Detroit with our tails between our legs - Craig Yope and his crew wiped us out in our New England vs. Midwest grudge match! You can check out the entire game at: http://www.ww2wargame.com/forum/index.php?topic=192.0
I am ready for a rematch at Origins!

I am quite the fan of that mans moustache.

Had an awesome time at Origins - even better than last year! :-D
We ran two tables on Thursday and Friday (first time we have done that at a Con) and had 10-12 people playing on both days - which was a blast.
The “veteran” rematch between Michigan and New England ended up in yet another Allied Michigan victory and I was defeated once again by my arch-nemesis - Dan, as the Soviet Union and Craig as the UK. Eric managed an invasion on Japan in 1944, humbling John as Japan - looks like John and I need some practice before trying to go toe to toe with the Detroit folks again.
We ended up playing a great 1941 scenario game on Saturday to wrap up Origins with which was a very close game down to the wire and a great way to end the Con!
Thanks to everyone who came and played - look forward to next year!
If you are going, swing by and check it out at GenCon Indy
