    I’ve found that because there are so many more units per battle, on average, that the fluctuations are still the same, but magnified.  Rolling no hits with 8 units attacking is painful, but when it’s 20ish, that’s game-changing on that front.

    However, there are a lot of fronts to contend with, so the game overall has more give.

    At this point, i need some luck to have a chance.  As this was my first WAW game, there is quite a learning curve, especially against one that has been sharpening his strategy.  I now see how things work and would avoid certain mistakes, like the prematurely forward-deployed Chinese factory. Yikes!

    It will be weird to see what happens. I’m not sure yet if the Allied situation in Europe is better or worse than the Japanese situation in Asia.

    There is definitely an early and late game components.  I think you won the early rounds.  Russia does not look so hot, and soon it will be a one-front war for you as Germany.

    The US is setting up pretty nice in South America, but Italy is just a rabid beast.

    I liked my ANZAC can-opening, US battleship drop in the Philippines.  I’m not threatening all of the Pacific Axis capitals at once.  However, I bungled China’s defense, and my Russian spending in the Far East won’t amount to much when I finally lose Moscow.

    Thrilling so far.  My only solace has been still making more than the Axis powers, but it sure is close.

    Would you be up for starting a second game now, with sides reversed? I’m fiending for more games.  :-P
