  • one thing about that france battle, I would only taken 1aa hit when you had the germans coming in next with air.  I didn’t check the dice yet but we need to take the last dice roll out and see if it would have made a difference.


  • I did forget to ask after the fact about the aa gun. Go ahead and switch out an inf for an aa. I’d have died in that last round regardless of whether there was an extra inf in there or not.

    Hey guys,

    just wanted to let you know that I followed the entire game. Good game!

    I also witnessed the dilemma with the “space bar accident”.
    To me the dilemma in that things lies in the problem: What happens if you would have made that last hit in the next round without your opponent making that hit costing you air?

    I’d say it is not completely insane to be greedy and to try to capture the country even under the risk of losing air.
    Thus I’d say it is hard to tell what would have happened (you hit and he misses your air)
    Would you still have claimed you wanted to retreat and give the country back? Difficult to prove imo thus I can somehow understand that the Allies player was less generous allowing edits in this case compared to e.g. forgotten NCMs.

    But still, this is of course none of my business and I apologize for the surprise post.

    As far as the space bar incident. I was short on German air at the time and short through most of the game come to think of it. I had no reason to risk some air at that point as it wouldn’t have gotten me anything as far as freeing up a blitz I wanted or held/cleared an important terr. I would have given any inf back my air hit had I hit and he missed.

    If you look through my games you’ll find numerous examples of me giving units back to my opponents for mistakes or bad rolls, allowing rerolls for horrible dice, allowing edits after combat for walkins, editing for average results after horrible dice, etc. And I know of one game where it probably ended up costing me the game in the end, or at least contributed quite a bit to my loss. I’m usually a pretty fair and sporting opponent, but the sporting ends when someone questions my ethics. I don’t take too kindly to people who think/imply my motives aren’t honest.

    Fair enough re “Space bar”. I btw have to say that I meanwhile do not play DOW1 with Japan by default as I am currently trying a strategy where Japan DOW1 is not too beneficial for.
