didn’t see you could take southern italy… at first was planning to load up gibraltar which would have prevented it. that was twice late in the game where there were major mistakes i made by making a last second change without considering the full ramifications because i was so tired…
the one lone transport in z91, i’ll have to remember that. take the NB and then walk into southern italy. a bit gimmicky and wish you hadn’t done it in a game you were already overwhelmingly ahead in (you lose style points there).
can you play a person in the league 3 times? if so we will have to have our rubber match, i do not think you can beat me twice.

post your win, glad i could be the cure to your dice problems, i can’t tell you how many times i do that for guys. honestly, this game really did come down to that fleet battle dicing, that could not be survived. that fleet should have been sitting in z92 keeping italy safe, and then i may have finally gotten to russia. we’ll never know because the dice ruined this one. if you don’t get that dicing against the jap fleet this could have turned into an EPIC game.

Italy is a B*&%$ to protect, especially in the face of the US/UK one two punch. I really thought you were just leaving is open because you knew you had to move on Russia with everything and didn’t care anymore. It’s a cheap move for sure, but then… You’re one of the best players on the boards so I’ll take whatever I can get! :lol:
As for the game overall, I have a little different take. I thought you could have taken Russia around round 14 or at least seriously threatened it. I thought the German diversion into the middle east, while very successful, bought the allies time. I also think the neutral crush may have helped me too in as much as it opened up more of Europe to be contested. I knew I cold not have dislodged the Italians from Spain without great loss. So I decided to ignore them and just resume my Iceland - northern europe shuck and leave the Italians down there.
The destruction of the Japanese fleet was a major victory for me. No question. Lucky too. I’d say the effect it had on the game was more to free up the Atlantic and open western europe to attack. Not sure how critical that was given Russia was all that mattered. If I could hold Nor and Kor to shuck ftrs to Russia I think my position was as good as it could get. The only real pressure point I had, I think, was to try to get back Egypt. But that seemed unlikely.
All that aside, this is probably the most titanic game I have ever played. I feel like I just gave birth to Kittens! :-o
