Now let’s play, although unfortunately I’m going to Venice in few hours and I don’t think I’ll be able to play untill the 17. (But I guess with enough screenshots I could post directions and one fo you could play the Ottomans for 1 or 2 turns while I’m away)

I’ll remind you, that you are only really at war with 1 of your neighbors: Austria. And you can always just kick his ass and then offer him a ceasefire. Or pressure Russia to declare war on him. Or just hold him off til France conquers a few more neutrals and starts kicking him around. The shape and position of your territories means that he can not take more than 1 or 2 unimportant territories from you before he runs smack into the wall that is constantinople. Your nation is perfectly suited to playing a defensive war with Austria, as all your income is beyond his reach.

I was thinking of the 1v1 game, where there is no politics, and the sides are [France, Spain, Sweden, Ottomans] vs [UK, Prussia, Austria, Russia]. In the non-politics game, Austria and Prussia always put a few guys in Hanovre so that you live past R1. But not so in the Free for All version….
Perhaps France and I can sign the Treaty of Armiens now?

All ships except “Cutters” (the white sailboat) can carry 1 Marine.
The green ships, “Barques”, are the transports of the game. They have 3 space, meaning that they can carry 3 Marines, OR 1 marine + 1 infantry/artillery type unit, OR just 1 horse type unit.
Frigates (big white boat) and Battleships (big red boat) get bombardment, which insta-skills units, no return fire allowed, but limited in number of bombards to the number offloaded.
Marines get +1 attack if they are attacking amphibiously (making them a 3 attack unit).
In total, I could have dropped off 5 units, because I had 4 transports (meaning I could transports 4 normal units), and I also had 1 marine (he can fit into any boat almost).
I also could have 2 bombardments.
Most likely, you would have won Hanovre with 6-7 units left over. If I attacked you, it would most likely result in noone winning, or one of us winning with just one unit left. Either way, it would have been a close battle.
However, I could throw cheap units at you, and you would have lost expensive cavalry. So maybe it was a good idea not to attack. (perhaps an attack and retreat would have been better for you….)

There is a table with the unit values and such at the east of the map, beyond Russia’s territory. It’s pretty good. Anyway, try identify the ships by colour, their shape can be confusing
I have to say that this map is pretty good. Many territories, many SZs… also, the lack of aircraft makes trades a bit more difficult… pretty interesting gameplay here. My only complaint is that many territories are not well named… per expample, Papal States where in central Italy, not in north Italy. But it’s a minor complain :-)

Lisbon has fallen!
Portuguese capital has been taken, but the royal family had been evacuated to Brazil long ago. We’ll have to consider send our colonial troops in America against them. However, a small amount of portuguese troops remain in southern Portugal, and they’ll be destroyed unless they surrender. Since they’re in the way to Gibraltar anyway, this is not a problem for us!
At the same time, a great army has been forged to crush the british presence in the Iberian peninsula for once and without any chance of escape! One century of national infamy will be ended!
Movements of the british navy are irrelevant for now. They cannot prevent us from retaking Gibraltar! However, Prince of Peace has declared that soon or later the british navy will have to go with the fishes!
