I think that they’ve got major problems even if they retreat, their whole strategy revolved around a R6 attack.

I concede.  Odds were 70%.  This is the third time with good odds that Moscow failed.   I really am hating the dice.

Ghr2, you don’t get it.  Putting all your eggs in one basket and losing means game over.  It is no different than losing Sealion.  There is NO hope of 13 cities now.   There is no follow up on Moscow.  Those Far East inf walk into Moscow plus buys and we’ll never be able to take it.  You won.  Take your win.  If you think you could win then switch sides.

Corrigan, I am also a Sealion guy since the basic strategy was fleshed out back in the fall of 2010.  I’ve never lost with a successful Sealion.  I’ve been trying to flesh out this Moscow rush, and turn 6 is the fastest I can attack Moscow.  Maybe there’s more tweaking to be done.  Should Russia fall, I’d say game over.

still he did shock me a little when he spent the entire game marching back from Siberia, only to decide at the very last minute to abandon the recapture or defense of moscow and instead focus on the japs.

(sorry ryan - that’s advice for a future game, now I know I once said that I draw the line at Novosibirks, but that’s in a normal game, and it doesn’t mean everything defends at Novo)

also, 2 inf and 2 art vs smolensk was a little more than I would throw

still we all could spend time second guessing each other, some might say that my bomber builds and use of bombers as cannon fodder was wrong headed

In his defense, if those far east inf are in Moscow it would take me qiute a few turns to catch up, let alone get 70% odds again.  And with spending good money in the Atlantic, I don’t think I can do it.  He did a good job of never giving me a decisive battle intil Moscow.

Imagine how bad it would have been if I had not made a mistake and put the 2 fighters, tactical in Iraq.  If they were in C. Persia they would have been in Moscow for your attack.

Honestly, I’d go with a round 7 attack, round 6 seems ambitious.  The Russians have to be out of character and be walking from round 1 to get 12 infantry to Moscow before round 7 attack and most players don’t start on round 1, they generally start when all 18 infantry can move together.

I agree that Russia can’t let the Germans get the better of them against that kind of game plan, no trading troops for land and time, instead you must give land and time to preserve the troops.

I will play as well, but team work as the Allies is very difficult in online play.  In FTF you know that you will use teamwork, in online, it’s almost like we’re playing in silos and trying to read each others minds.

A huge disadvantage, to be sure.  I find that as a solo player it is easier to outplay a large team.

And I do like your bmb moves.  I didn’t anticipate that from the WUS.  One more nail in the coffin for a turn 7 hit.

Are we playing total VC again?  I am on an iphone and can’t start until later in the week

How do you like your iPhone?  I’m kinda stuck with Andriod or Windows if I stay with my current company, but I’m flirting with moving to AT&T and getting an iPhone - I was just rather ticked when they told me that I had to upgrade my phone to their new system or not have any service at all (back in the late 90s, but still!)

As I said, just tell me what country and who my teammates are and I’ll do that.  If you want me to make a choice, I choose Japan or England/India/Australia and if none of those are good, Italy or Russia is fine.  I’d rather not be the United States of America - you hegemonic, warmongering pig-dogs! (sorry, had to shove a jibe in there, I am just a horrible America player, giving me America would be akin to having my teammates basically do America’s round which wouldn’t be fun.)
