It’s too bad, I felt the allies were positioned well for success in this one. One single roll likely decided it and that’s a shame on me. Sorry for the letdown it should have been a good one that challenged us both. :|
Well, it’s always an option to play it over again afterwards, like “what if” you had realized you needed to block Bel with 3 infantry. I had been thinking about a re-play from that point, too, but then there’s “what if” you didn’t get an insane defense in Manchuria, and insane offense in Hupeh, and an insane defense in TrJ. Not that you were the only lucky one (off the top of my head I recall killing 2/3 infantry in 2 battles where you took 3 infantry against 1, which was somewhat fortunate for me - not on the insane level though :wink:)
No, probably the best thing for us is just to continue to play new games against each other after the two we’re playing…
I predict that you don’t make the Italian can-opener mistake for at least another year, though.
If you have the American fighter on the UK carrier in Z7 at the end of US5, you should declare which carrier it is on (with UK fighter or not). It’s a good habit to get into, and you never know when it will become relevant. (Or you could place it on the map in such a way that it is clear)
I thought that only would matter if I had two non-British fighters in a zone with more than one carrier. If it’s a British fighter on a carrier, it doesn’t matter what carrier its on if there is only one non-British fighter right?
You’re right. The British fighter would be in the air on the UK’s next turn, so with only 1 guest fighter it wouldn’t matter.
