Thank you Cromwell.

Atop Devil’s Den. A Confederate flag atop a Northern battery. Little Round Top in the distance.

Cemetery Ridge. Facing Confederate advance. Copse of Trees to the left…
Looks so peaceful. Must be weird to stand there.
It also looks very open. -
North Carolina Monument: Longstreet’s Assault…
This does not represent any Regiment in particular does it and where is it?
People talk of Pickett’s 3 Brigade Virginia Division, but North Carolinian regiments were in action from Day 1 and suffered very badly through the  3 day battle. I am sure its casualties were higher than Virginia’s and its  men were fighting and dying here in the North while parts of the state had been occupied for over a year now.
They were here because they believed Lee could bring them victory. Brave men all.Edited as I saw your other thread. No need to answer me here.

Absolutely, but the battle could have been won further west if Anderson and Longstreet had coordinated properly. The second day was the best chance for victory with three fresh Divisions((13 Brigades) of fine(mostly)Deep South men.

Seems like a good place to put it.
7 1/2 Brigades of Inf from NC, including the largest Confederate Brigade, Pettigrew’s, certainly shows the sacrifice your state made in those three days.
You are right to be proud.
Could have been another 5000 Inf if Lee had have got those fine Brigades of Cooke and Ransom.
