• All,

If USA attacks Korea from Amur, does that give Japan the ability to attack from Manchuria to Amur without Mongolia turning Russian?  Russia is at war with Japan but has not attacked Manchuria or Korea.

If it matters, there are American troops in both Amur and Korea.

    Thx

  • U.S. has zero to do with Mongolia rule, Jon, so it doesn’t matter if the U.S. took Korea from Japan.  Would only matter if Russia did, so in your scenario Mongolia would side with Russia.

  • If any Japanese troops capture USSR territory on Mongolian lines, Mongolia joins USSR.

  • Should this move trigger the Mongolians in ALL situations (except Russia has not attacked Korean or Manchuria)?

    Thx

  • Correct.

The only possible exception I can think of is if Moscow had already fallen and the U.S. or U.K. had liberated Timguska so it wasn’t Russian.

Yes, Moscow has fallen BUT that was still Russian territory.

So, should Mongolia have Russian troops now or should they still be neutral?

    Thx

  • Mongolia goes Russian.

  • Triple A isn’t exactly reliable for learning G40 but regardless of who controls Moscow or the territories that surround Mongolia, if Japan attacks USSR territory, Mongolia joins USSR.

The strange part about the Mongolian rule is if USSR attacks Japanese held Suiyuyan, Chahar etc it nullifies the Mongolian rule.

But yes, in your example Mongolia goes USSR providing that USSR hasn’t nullified the rule yet.

That’s one of the few “realism” in G40 where Mongolia didn’t care for China as it had closer ties with USSR hence why they join USSR if they get invaded but not if China falls. I think at some point, some Chinese warlords encroached Mongolia and thus set off some resentment between the two countries and Mongolia could not care less about the civil war and Japan showing up made it worse as the Japanese could care less what about was Mongolian.
