brother, i lost this game. very very well played. impressed with how quickly you got the income advantage as Axis. The last round or so i’ve just been setting you up with 70%-90% attacks (couldn’t defend everything adequately while maintaining the offensive) hoping for some good dice. i’ll post the result.

It is the right things to offer invitations that could change the game if they go wrong for the attacker.However both attacks weren’t that risky for the Axis.
At Normandy I could have retreated at any point and France and WGR would have been safe.
The 42 battle was at 97%, so a little miracle was required to let that battle go wrong.All in all I think BM is a great improvement in order to balance the game. And although I won this game with Axis and Adam is 16:0 with Axis I believe Axis have very good winning chances in BM.
One NO I don’t like is the North african NO because I think it is simply too easy to obtain for the Allies. For many other NOs Allies have to make decisions (such as sending fleet and transports deep into the Med). However the NA NO does not force Allies to do anything special.
Landing troops in 91 and Gib is just a natural move and from there It is almost taken for granted that Allies will get those 3 territories.Cheers,

Hey JDOW, ur right that the North Africa NO is basically an inevitability for Allies. But i don’t think that, in and of itself, makes an NO unworthy of inclusion. There are quite a few NOs like that in the OOB game (taking Novgorod for Axis, for example). It is important, however, that the NO be reasonably contestable and worth contesting. And I think that the North Africa NO is one that can be contested and delayed by Axis, if not prevented. This is especially true with the Vichy France option.
In many of the games I have played, the North Africa objective has come down to a final stand by Axis in Tunisia, requiring a substantial commitment of forces by Allies in order to redeem the objective. And that is pretty historical and fun.

Right in time my game vs ABH developed in that direction. Italy defending the North African NO-territory fiercely and it is not easy to capture for the Allies without making serious concessions on other fronts.
