Yeah, I probably went heavier in the Pac theater than typical with the bid, which you took advantage of with a strong G1 opener. Good rolls as well.

I’ll do probably tomorrow morning then^^ Having a couple of beers tonight anyway so no good idea to do the first somehow exciting US/ZH/UK block with alcohol in my veins^^

First exciting? What were the first moves then?
I think this game is about to be over soon ;)

Yeah, probably over soon. So far I am not entirely convinced that the G4 sea lion combined with 16 JP troops to claim RU land is superior by definition, but combined with my disastrous Africa play Russia cannot develop the strength it usually should get in sea lion games.

The 16 japanese troops are currently making sure Russia makes 6 IPC less each round - that is 2 inf or 1 tank less against Germany. Plus it is banking extra cash for Japan. It depends on the whole strategy. :)

Japan’s turn is a little complicated, and my mind is so tired that I keep falling asleep over the computer. Will have to wait until tomorrow.

Sure, it is an important piece for the Europe Victory, the price is losses on the Chinese mainland. However if Japan can overcome it, it’s nice for them.
I just said I am not convinced - even if I cannot stop it, it is just a gut feeling. Like in chess, when you lose a game because you were not familiar with the situation but have the feeling that a counter would have existed, you just did not find it yet plus you know you blundered some point.
-
But one thing I would indeed be interested in. In case you were the Allies in that game:
Would you have waited in London with everything to make the sea lion as painful as possible or would you also have attacked Scotland and invest the last buy elsewhere and to get a decent shot to at least kill 19 ground + 1 AA?The question I had: You can make London cheap in terms of: G4 you could load more ground in order to have many survivors and low loss of air. On the other hand these units would have missed on the mainland for another round. I wasn’t sure what the better outcome was, however I thought that 19 losses are better than maybe 12-14 and one round delay. But I am not sure whether this was the right decision or not.

I can often sacrifice Japanese influence in China, simply because the Chinese units are limited to Chinese mainland, as well as the fact that the Chinese economy can only produce inf and art. So if I can squeeze Russia from East, dominate Islands and still have a healthy economy, one can easily sacrifice China, as that helps Germany, either if it is Sealion or Barbarossa.
It all depends on the situation. And as of right now, this game is going strongly for the Axis, so I am happy with how it looks for now. With UK being completely knocked out from Europe for 2 rounds or more, it really isn’t looking good for the Allies. Germany will simply roll over Russia without feeling too much heat from the West, as USA have to choose what to do, and can’t do all of what they have to do with enough strength. And since Italy is so strong in Africa and the Middle East, it is only a matter of time now.
Your Pacific fleet isn’t close to strong enough to take out Japan at the moment, since you had to go heavy Atlantic. But as you can see, Germany isn’t threatened by it.
;)

I have a request: when you are doing UK, could you post your combat move BEFORE you roll dice?
Thank you :) -

If I had been the Allies in that game, I would have made taking London so expensive that they would have to use EVERYTHING and even risk losing a bunch of planes. That way Russia could pose a serious threat in Europe, but as you saw now, I did not even have to bring everything in the attack, as I could send stuff toward Russia. My brother always plays the Allies, and he has NEVER lost London. Yes, I beat him by taking out Russia, but UK is always a pain in the butt the whole game. It is possible to either hold London or make it so expensive that it’s almost not worth it for Germany to do it. Sealion is a risky strategy, since you tie so many resources up transports (10 trannies could be 7 mechs and 7 tanks against Russia).
About the Scotland attack, sure it was nice for UK to kill those tanks in Scotland, but even though it was a tactical victory, you lost more than you gained strategically. Even with Russian mechs following up behind the main Russian stack, you never threatened the German stack - and now the pressure is full on Russia, with Germany not having to worry much about the West front, since USA has to spread out thin to accomplish all of what they need. Count in the fact that Italy will come flooding up the Middle East, and Russia will be struggling big time, having to fight on several fronts.
-
Thanks for your replies.

Does this mean you would neither have attacked nor built the Arty but max defense the round before?
Also I guess you would have repaired the factory in UK3 to build 4 extra inf as defense for the G4 attack? -

Thank you :)Not a problem, but may I ask why? (assuming there are no scramble or OOL decisions?)

I’ll be nice ;) I just wanted to see if you would try to offload uk troops from Canada when the German sub was there ;) I am EVIL!! Lol
-
No worries, I was well aware of that. And also that present US boats can’t allow offloading either.
-
Good. A lot of people forget that about the US/UK combo.
When will you post?
