World War II in the Pacific turn by turn

Well, managed to cut off the Chinese on the coast. Don’t think he’ll be able to supply them, so sayonara!

So the Chinese counterattacked to free the units in the coast and succeeded. Small victory, though. I have air power, and they don’t. But they have consolidated their infantry into several armies (this game, like World War II in Europe, has stack limits so can’t put everything into one space like Axis & Allies).

I need to back off now and think about how I am going to hit all the islands and kill as many western units as possible. Will need to pull some planes and ground units from China.

So cut off those units in southern China and this time they died. It is hard not to go on the offensive in China with Japan, but I always make that mistake. Should be gearing up for the Pacific, not conductng full scale operations in China when I can’t replace lost men at this stage. Now I’m weak in northern China.

  • Be cool if there was a US convoy route to Australia like there was. Unless Anzac is strong enough in this game ?
They had a ton of stuff that never got used in war from US in case Japan got closer.
Then it was mostly sunk after war with some stuff givin away.

US and ANZAC and UK are still neutral. Once at war, they can set up those convoys if he wishes. Upto $20 can be lent or received by any nation.

Hope you had a chance to go over the rules?

The Communists are advancing in the north. I can’t afford to invest anything up there yet. I am just about ready to declare war and advance in the Pacific.

It is the end of fall1941. Next turn is winter 1941. I am going to attack a turn early.

Cool OK. Rules sort of for now.

I attacked. Went well. But a few more things I need to take. The subs from Darwin hurt my Philipines and Brunei convoys.

US needs to build transports to get his convoys to ANZAC going.

Chinese armies are getting big. And the Communists are a big threat. I need to bring my attention back to China.

The balance between doing operations in the Pacific and advancing in China is pretty hard. Lost a couple more transports in my convoy to the subs from Darwin, and the nationalists are holding onto Hanoi, which is neutralizing my units down there.

  • Yo maybe I missed it but u can only transport money or troops with a convoy zone in non combat ?
Also if Jap wanted to attack Anzac can the Transports with troops jump off convoy zone and attack Australia ?

  • Customizer

Transport in a convoy are stuck with convoy duty until you take them out of the convoy, which can be done in you non combat move. In a convoy they can carry money, supply or both, but not units. Outside of a convoy, they carry units only.
You could have transports drop units off in an amphibious attack in combat and then in non combat have them go into a convoy, bit not the other way around.

Had to wait for my opponent to be available to play again.

Had a big naval battle when the Amercans tried to rebase to New Caledonia. Inconclusive, but we both got a damaged carrier. Problem for him is that is his only carrier and I still have 1 operational in the area. He has to send his back to US to be repaired. Not good for him.

Although I am struggling in indochina, and can’t advance in China proper. Having troubles …

And his pesky subs are sucking transports in my convoys from me. Although I got both his Australian convoys. He refilled one of them.

This worries me, though. Look what’s coming down the pipe …20200416_100527[1].jpg

The fall 1942 turn was better for the Allies. I have managed to start to get myself going in indochina, but he has alot of forces there I now have to over come. And China managed to push me back out of Wuhan. And I couldn’t intercept the US fleet from rebasing to New Caledonia this time. Convoy raids were a bust for him, but I got kicked out of Papua.

My big problem … I have lots of carriers, but not enough planes for them all, and I need to keep buying land units for the mainland.

Kind of a stalemate with the communists right now. He’s saving up his money with them - don’t know why …

I’ve lost steam in southern China. Stalemate in the north is holding. I did a leap frog and landed in Calcutta in an attempt to cut off the British. But I can’t spare any transports to supply those units properly via convoy. My war on the mainland is not looking good.

At sea, I am strong, but the US fleet is building. No engagements this turn. I need to force him to come out and fight.

    It is now spring 1943.

Things … are not improving for me …

Trying to stabilize things on the mainland. US is moving forward. I intercept, but got my carrier damaged and lost a plane. He lost a plane too, but I just don’t have enough anymore to do anything. Writing is on the wall for this game. I just wasn’t aggressive enough at sea, and wasn’t defensive enough in China.

That’s enough for today. Pay a couple more rounds tomorrow and see where things are at.20200416_150252.jpg

  • Customizer

Well there was another naval battle, again, only the planes engaged. Lost another plane. Once the US carriers are built and those subs of his will make an impact.

Rules for naval movement and combat are not the same as Axis & Allies.

I am not making headway on the mainland.
