      Exactly, knp.  Someone once asked me why I bothered to DOW Japan as France.  On rare occasions it has proven useful as a blocker.  Why give up something from your bag of tricks out of laziness?

      Guys,

      I had to move countries, and could only take so much with me. Because of the sheer size and weight of AA Global I had to leave it behind.

      I am currently living in California, and I was wondering if anyone was selling AA Global (eur+Pac). It can be first or second edition, and can miss a piece or two, but definitely not too many!

      Remember this:

      Hitler, in trying to defend everything, could defend nothing.

      I always try to be proactive in my sea and land defenses, but if you see the Allies attempting to land, pull back, build artillery and counterattack when the Allied airforces and navies can’t hit you. The exception is Germany, West Germany, Denmark. But you should defend 5 tt’s from the US (perhaps 6 depending on the Med): France, WGer, Ger, Den and Greece (and maybe N. Italy or Rome…)

      I understand you’re point of you but as I like to be historical.
      My Vichy rules is: When France falls, All french territory become Vichy ( except Congo = Belgium)
      But UK- Free French player may influence some Vichy territory to join free french.
      1 attemp pert turn. cost 2$.
      You must have 2 or less. If you win, Vichy territory and unit become FFL and can be use in combat.

      Yes, on the next round of combat after the final enemy destroyer has been removed as a casualty.

      Meant One map only for a shorter game.was talking Europe, but have a few problems with Pacific concerning set up, especially
      Vis a Vis missing Russian Inf. In pacific only Japan should not be allowed to empty Manchuria and Korea as Russia borders them. Played a friend who sailed his Us fleet to Australia on T2 , before my T3 DOW. Was legitimate, but I feel it should not be. I now accept T2 DOW is seen as all as best. Would like to see a clarification of stand alone NOs and starting set ups. Sorry if I sound unclear.

      You may have spent too much time with Japan.  Keep in mind, Japan’s job in a KJF is to make the allies spend a lot of time dealing with them!

      That said, Transports, Transports, TRANSPORTS!  You should be able to land 20-22 ground units a round into N. Africa and set up a direct threat on Italy and Egypt. (you need only liberated or hold enough VCs to stop Germany from winning while you amass overwhelming firepower.)

      I know that the ships don’t block, as of now. Although, if you decided to attack on turn 2, they would do so, as you need to declare war at the beginning of the combat move phase  :-)

      Interesting thing is, as a moderator, I can see the spam posts when I go to reply, but not when I just look at the thread.  EM just made a different account to use in the meanwhile and Djensen eventually fixed it.

      The hisoricalboardgaming.com axis minor set looks really cool.  Some have proposed house rules for tank destroyers and the Stug or Hummel would be perfect for that (just like artillery but move 2 and cost 5).  You can get them in a few different colours too.

      In the interest of historical nerdiness, you could use the “light” infantry as Finland troops and the “heavy” infantry as Bulgarian troops because they have Bulgarian helmets. You could use the 38t tanks as the ones that start out in Slovakia and Romania because it was a czech tank.  You could use the panzer IIIs as the other tanks that you start the game with, and then use the OOB panthers for future tank builds.  That’s really geeky but I am ordering s set!

      I’m not sure about the other pieces (105 artillery, armoured car, halftrack, FW190) but they are fun to have I guess.

      TASK FORCE 156

      Now if you want to build a versatile multi-purpose Task Force to be based at seazone 26 by the end of turn 3, you would go like this:

      First you would commit 1 Battleship, 1 Cruiser, 1 Trsp and 1 Carrier with Ftr/Tac from sz 10. The Destroyer must go to sz 8 as blocking ship. Then you commit 1 Cruiser, 1 Trsp and 1 Sub from sz 26. The Destroyer must go to sz 25 as blocking ship. You will also commit 1 Cruiser and 1 Trsp from sz 101, 2 Inf, 1Art and 1 Ftr from Western US and 1 Inf, 1 Art and 1 Ftr from Eastern US.

      T1 you purchase 1 Carrier, 1 Destroyer and 1 Sub in sz 10, 1 Tank and 1 Ftr in Central US and 1 Sub in sz 101.

      T2 you purchase 1 Carrier and 2 Destroyers in sz 10 and 2 Ftr’s in Central US.

      T3 you move all ships to sz 26 and purchase 1 DD in sz 10, 2 Ftr’s in W.US and 2 Bombers in C.US.

      Now you have in sz 26:
      1 Battleship
      3 Carriers with 5 Ftr’s and 1 Tac
      3 Cruisers
      3 Destroyers
      3 Subs
      3 Trsp with 3 Inf, 2 Art and 1 Tank
      3 Ftr’s on Hawaii that may scramble during defense or switch with carrier-planes during attack.

      The units in sz 26 will defend with 63 pips, and together with the new aircrafts in US attack (land based planes switch places with carrier based planes) attack adjacent seazones with 70 pips. This fleet will absorb 4 hits before they start taking casualties, and it will roll 3 pre-emptive dices in the first round of combat.

      This Task Force may also Ampibious Assault adjacent islands with 9 land units pips, 13 Shore Bombard pips and 19 aircraft support pips, for a total of 41 attacking pips.

      This Task Force cost 156 IPC’s.

      WARNING: This Task Force may be a sittin’ duck if not used properly, moron.
