      @crusaderiv:

      My point is if you are gonna make the torpedo bombers youre gonna only have them availible for certain countries simply
      Yes of course. Only UK and USA can get torpedo bomber.
      Same thing for the dive bomber. Only Germany, USSR, Japan and USA may built this kind fo unit.
      Japan has both at the beginning of War II.

      It’s why I decided group them as tactical bombers.  That way everyone has a use for them.

      AA42 neutral rules:

      Procedure: roll ONE D6 for each IPC= consult chart below. Until you conquer the nation it is an ally of your enemy but they don’t collect IPC. Only direct occupation and conquest awards IPC to the player. Each turn these activated nations can build new units according to its own capacity ( so if its a 1 IPC area, it takes 3 turns to build one infantry) and place one unit of any type per turn.

      1= 1 infantry
      2= 1 infantry,1 artillery
      3= 2 infantry,1 artillery
      4= 2 infantry,1 artillery, 1 mech
      5= 3 infantry,1 artillery, 1 mech, 1 tank
      6= 3 infantry,1 artillery, 1 tank, 1 fighter, 1 destroyer

      Note: Sahara, Afghanistan, Mongolia, and Himalayan Territory cannot be entered by any units.

      Making units obsolete/worthless is what I was getting at in my post. I don’t think that’s exactly the case, but it can sort of make it a speciality item, and I’m not sure if the incomes are high enough for that. Not sure if I’m wording this write either.

      Reading what you wrote about the late war carriers, maybe you could make the rules time related. Meaning they are like automatic technologies that appear after a certain round and just replace the older ones. All infantry gets those bonuses with movement and everything, and still costs 3 IPC, after the 5th round maybe. Fourth, even.

      I don’t know. I like the idea (especially the mech inf), but it’s hard to implment.

      For some reason he wrote to wizards of the coast to ask permission to post it. They denied, so he chose not to post it. It’s a shame, it looked really great.

      Thank you very much for guiding me there. Sucks to get posts deleted (same thing happened to me with my much improved handbook, something about copy-write or something)

      @ABWorsham:

      Great post Black Fox.

      Reading about the air war in the Pacific, if an aircraft was off a few degrees could lead to a watery grave hundreds of miles out in the vast Ocean.

      Thanks

      Thinking of the Pacific.  I knew a guy who was a B-25 waist gunner in the Pacific during WWII.  He told me a story where his squadron was sharing the air field with Richard I Bong when he was flying the P-38.  At the time their version had the eight .50 cal in the nose.  He said those guns we just vicious.  However, the high humidity was causing problems with the electrical circuits that controlled the guns.  When it got bad enough the moisture would connect the firing circuits and the guns would sometimes start firing by themselves.  One day they were getting ready for a mission.  Just as they were walking out to the planes, one of the P-38s guns went off.  The airplane starting bouncing and spreading lead all over the field.  It hit a few other planes and their guns went off too.  At this point they now had 5 fully load P-38 with guns just blazing away and planes just started exploding all over the place.  He said by the time it was all over, they had 45 planes destroyed on the ground!  I’m sure this is just one of many such incidents that added to those mind blowing statistics.

      Recently I saw some Player Aid/Reference Charts made by Imperious Leader.

      First of all the picture background are absolutely works of art.  Very nice indeed.

      What intrigued me was the Order of Play.  The normal standard Order of Play is

      1. USSR
      2. Germany
      3. UK
      4. Japan
      5. USA

      The one on IL’s Players Aid is

      1. USSR (Turn one only)
      2. Germany & Japan
      3. USSR, UK & US.

      For those of you who have played with the latter.  What advantages & disadvantages with this order of play.  Also, how dramatically does it change the game?  Does it affect balance of play?

      The most obvious one I see is that it can be more historically accurate by allowing the allies to do combined assaults.  However, I see this as more beneficial to the Allies than the Axis.
