You’re right, whether using the box rules or LHTR.  Taking a power’s IPCs by taking their capital is not income, so you can collect it even if your capital is held by the enemy.

Another reason it isn’t a bad idea is b/c like on Gleemax you have time limits on turn movement.  As Japan most of the time I have a lot of logistics to move around and can’t do that as fast as other players.  I’m sure the US is in the same boat (ha ha  :lol: I made it funny).  So that balances it out.

The bad thing is if you want to undo that non-combat move you did in the combat phase you can’t.  So you should always try to make your moves in the correct order.

A typical situation for this would be Japan trying to bombard the west coast, you have to bring the troops via trn, but you dont want to send more than one inf a turn, assuming you want to do this for multiple turns, you have to load the trn (e.g. with troops from hawai) in the NCM of the turn before you start your attack…

I know I did not care for the argument that brought the issue up.  And it would be nice to have had a way to drop you a note and say “Hey!  What were thsoe dice?” :-)

Okay, I have created a “Make game record page” which creates records that AACalc will soon be able to log to - another couple hours coding should do it. This also incorporates an optional bidding function.

One question that was raised about bidding in software development forum was whether we should use an “Ebay” style bid where the winning bidder gets their optimal bid - ie. if you bid 0 and the other guy bid 10, then you would get it for 9 - so your bid is how low you are willing to go, but you don’t necessarily have to go that low. It’s an interesting concept, and I could just make a choice on my page for which bid system to use.

Thoughts? Would A&A.org consider switching to this bid? It would make the bid less nerve-racking because you know you won’t be leaving money “on the table”. Eg. I just bid 7 for my round 2 game against a player who took the bid for 10 in round 1. If he bid 10 again this time, I could have had it for 9. Of course with that you can’t declare your bid placement with your bid (or you could just get the change in $ to the bank) because you don’t know exactly what it will be yet.

DF is correct.  And that is true for both OOB and LHTR rules.

My fault for being lazy. Yes there were more Italian “conquests” during the war. But I thought it funny that the Italians took etheopia. And to give credit where credit is due. Some Italian units fought bravely in Africa. Not through (or for) thier own government, but by the example of Rommel. The man was an inspiration to them as well as the Germans who fought.

I used to play a comp game that illustrated the Italian military very correctly. I got the hugest kick out of building up thier tech and having them march into moscow. The friend I played was not as good as I was. The only thing better than beating him… was to have him be defeated by the Italians lol.
