Generally speaking powers defend together. However in G40 there are powers that start off neutral (Russia and USA) or not at war with each other (like Japan and UK/France). You could have a case at sea when you attack a sz with units from multiple powers, and can ignore the units that belong to a power that you aren’t yet at war with.
GB Tech Research Question

I gained Jet Fighters w/ GB India money. Does that apply to GB as a whole? (GB Europe & Pacific)

The only things that the UK economies do separately are collect and spend IPCs. This means that the Purchase & Repair Units, Mobilize New Units, and Collect Income phases of the United Kingdom turn are conducted separately for each economy, but all other phases of the turn are conducted together in the same manner as any other power, with no regard to map boundaries. As a result, research and development may be paid for by either economy, and any resulting developments accrue to the power as a whole.

However, ANZAC, even though technically a part of the UK Commonwealth, has to do their own research for techs, right?
-
Yes. ANZAC is a separate power, and powers cannot share techs.
-
Kirieghund, why can’t nations share tech? Almost all the nations in the game shared either techs or more advanced weapon types with their allies.
-
What he said.
-
Well not give away, but a mechanism to share such as rolling for a targeted tech a nation has for 5 instead of 6. I know its not a real war but it seems silly that ANZAC can’t share with UK, Italy with Germany, and USA with UK or ANZAC. I don’t think it would be that big of an advantage, just a way for more minor powers to share with their bigger allies.

…… I don’t think it would be that big of an advantage, just a way for more minor powers to share with their bigger allies.
Um…yes it would. That would be a HUGE advantage. :-o I think you’re over-thinking it.
