    @Whackamatt:

    Oh, I know what good strategies are, I’m just bored with them.  lol.  Also, I consider myself a good player, and I have won as the Axis after having purchased a major factory in Romania, and against good players.  So I 100% disagree that it’s a losing strategy.  It can win.  Situational, perhaps, but not unattenable.

    It has certain advantages over the Baltic sea fleet.  The purchasing of mechs is more expensive then just infantry/artillery.  And it’s 2 rounds for mechs to reach the Ukraine, the same as inf/art from Romania.  So for 5 ICs less, I have 10 attacking @ 2s vs. 10 attacking @1s?  Advantage factory. Once your units reach the front line, they only march forward at 1 territory a turn.  Yes, reinforcements are harder to bring to the front line should you constantly advance, but a Russian counter attack with mostly Inf for offense will only work to a German advantage.

    It’s acknowledged that pressure on Novgorod is lessened, but it isn’t terribly difficult to pressure them from Germany anyways.
    I would say that there are certainly more risks involved in doing this move, and it’s easier to screw up and give Russia a factory or what not, but if you account for the disadvantages and leverage against the opportunities it gives you, it can be very beneficial.

    I’m with you on being bored with the same strategies but if I were going to do something different the major factory wouldn’t be my choice.  Anyway, scramble in 97?

    Give it another 100 games, you’ll do the major in Romania at some point, even if just to remind you why you shouldn’t do it for another 100 games! lol.  Kind of like my Neutral attack strategy.  :roll:  That NEVER works

    I love the neutral attack strategy I just can’t bring myself to do it because I know i’ll lose.  At one point I think Arathorn had a neutral crush that was pretty interesting but haven’t seen him play for a while so not sure what happened to that.
