Well clearing Romania with Italy turned out to be VERY expensive, but it allowed me to pull a slick little number and get 8 mech/arm to the front. Thank God that strafe in Yugo worked perfectly. I made a huge blunder by forgetting to send those bombers in and that got me in a hot mess. Germany’s down too much air for my liking. Let’s see if I can overcome that craptacular start!

Hm I watched really, really closely. But I still can’t see the reason for clearing Romania with that Bomber.
I moved 4mech, 4arm from Paris to Romania (3 spaces) in 1 turn. By being able to blitz through Romania on the way to Yugo, I was able to retreat to Romania, pulling the 8 units from Paris a space closer to the front. Which means it’s safe for me to stack Belarus, without the Italians having to take it first so my air can land. I don’t even know if that would be safe as I haven’t run the numbers and I’m low on fighters/tac. I could have retreated to Hungary instead and could’ve still moved 3 spaces whereas just moving 2 spaces would leave them a turn behind. But Romania threatens Ukraine (assuming Italy clears a blocker) and also protected Romania itself from being recaptured without having to sacrifice too many units that otherwise could’ve been in E Pol.

As far as Yugo goes, the strafe I send in only takes Yugo 24-25% of the time. It can be slowed down and it can be beaten. But it’s not about keeping Moscow, it’s more about slowing the Germans down enough that Moscow doesn’t fall until at least turn 7 or later. With this strat I’ve found anything past that and the axis chances of winning start declining every turn unless I match production and PUs. I’m talking generalities though, so not every game follows the same pattern.
