I’m pretty sure that’s it right there, but let me take a quick look in the morning. I’m pretty sure that was my last stand.

Take your time. Crazy game, this one.

You win this one, very well played.

Looking back through the history, I think my biggest mistake was not dealing with the Russians fast enough. I let them run around and take money away from me for too long versus just investing in 20 or so mechs and just dealing with it once and for all.

I wonder if I had invested more into the navy if I’d have been able to hold London cheaper and more effectively. You’re the king of German navies, what do you think?

Also my japan sucks, that’s undisputable… Ill stick to the allies I guess.

I think you could have won much earlier if when you had liberated London, you had bought fully loaded British transports and planes. If you had had like 5 transports and 5 planes ready to hit Germany, it would’ve meant that I’d needed 30 more infantry to defend it and wouldn’t have been able to hold anything with my rapidly dwindling money.

Another way you could have won way earlier was using the ANZACS to build a Tokyo invasion force. If you had built 10 transports and used your 7 fighters, with a reasonably sized US hit beforehand you could have taken it and ended the game. Without anything away from the European front.

    Thanks!

It was a pretty crazy game.

Japan was very lucky when conquering Calcutta and it certainly looked like the Allies were immediately doomed. Then I was mutually lucky when striking back liberating Calcutta. Especially the aussie-attack was weird, but key was of course the british luck when decimating the japanese defences. I’m sorry for the editing-debacle connected to those battles.

It’s amazing how close Axis was to winning despite the huge material imbalance. I could certainly had played better. For instance landing air in Persia along with an ab. Thought about it after having completed the moves, but let it go since I missed to buy both the mIC and ab.

I certainly thought about going for a takedown of Tokyo, but partly Japan did earn enough by then to just build 10 inf each turn and I don’t think I had solidified the overwhelming position in the Pac yet. I chose to go after the JN instead in order to help out against a blow towards Cairo. Also had to liberate London, so just didn’t have time to go for Tokyo.

A big problem for UK was that when London was liberated they had almost no units and very low income. It would take many turns in order to get to a position to seriously threaten Berlin. I think I more or less were threading that route though, building land and air and using the existing trannies. Did put some theoretical pressure on Berlin that way, so you needed to protect your capital sufficiently.

I think that I could have taken Berlin with fairly good odds during the turn when US sank the GN. Berlin was only protected by 10 inf, so an air-strike there followed by an air-supported british amphi could’ve perhaps sealed the deal. A bit risky though and I had only a mIC in Norway by then, so could only build 3 ac in z113. 10 air against 10 inf should be good odds though. Anyway, I chose to play more long-term, which was probably the wrong choice considering how close this endgame actually was.
