The two games that I have finished (in one go) have lasted 13 and 15 hours respectively. I have played 4 others in an ongoing format where we would play a turn every other day. All of these games lasted over a week.
G42 is an A&A Global scenario, there hasn’t been any indication from Larry or his team that this rule set is compatible with the single 1940 theater games. If you find out otherwise, please share in the Global forum with any clarifications. G42 was created to shorten games during tournament play, dot sure if that lead is useful, but you can also ask at harrisgamedesign.com
If it’s just about the turn order, you can simply house rule it, or revert to the 2nd edition sequence… play a few times and see what works best would be my advice.
good point kruzfeld I agree the bid balances perceptions, especially in the tournament
Another approach to picking teams is to draw for teams of 2/1 2/2 2/3 etc. (and/or experienced team leaders) then after teams are known, agree upon assignments within that team.
The split is less confusing because they are different coloured units with their own nation and turn sequence, so it’s the same as ANZAC infantry in Egypt with UK pieces.
Lol. I do own physical copies of each game but you can tell how often I’ve played them
That makes it obviously quite difficult to persuade other people to play with me…
It’s only that long now, because people are still JUST starting to play.
I think that he said his group hadn’t played it before, so I think it would still take a while. And even if all the players are used to the game, it is much longer than previous A&A games.
Random note: a lie is to deliberately mislead someone. That’s not what polybios is doing, so you shouldn’t accuse him of it.
