I’m pretty sure the transports staying in 93 was not legal, and Triple A allowed it because of the German boats which should not change anything because it was Italy’s turn. I’m sure you have already seen a similar situation in which the German transport in the Baltic was trapped because of the cruiser and was in the sea zone with the Russian sub and had to either join the battle for the cruiser or be sunk by the sub on Germany’s turn.

Just tested it, and Triple A actually warns you that the transports will die if they stay in the zone whether you have friendly boats in the zone or not. How should we proceed?

I think it’s a bug that TripleA warns about it. Subs alone don’t make a sz hostile, so you’re always free to choose whether or not to engage them in the combat phase, and if you choose not to, it doesn’t limit what you’re allowed to do on non-com. I don’t think the german units have any influence on it (though maybe it confuses TripleA).
Go ahead and post in the discussion thread if you want an official ruling on it though :)

Subs not making a sea zone hostile doesn’t necessarily mean that you are free to do whatever you want, for example you aren’t allowed to unload with a transport in a sea zone with an enemy sub without being accompanied by warships.
Like I said earlier, I’m pretty sure that they can’t stay in the zone during the combat phase, but I’ll post and we’ll see :-).

I guess I’m lucky that a rules misinterpretation didn’t lead to a bad position. I would have probably sent the subs there anyway, I just thought it was a better move than it was :lol:.
