Hi Galendae, it is tough being a newbie in this very unforgiving game. Let me guess the strategy? Germany bum-rushing Russia and taking Moscow before the other Allies can get in range to help. Right? There are plenty of players still trying to figure that one out as well. Practice a lot and work out a strategy that works and fits your style of play. Playing the Allies is a real tightrope act for sure! The Taranto raid and Battle of Tobruk by the London-English on turn 1 will certainly help neuter the Italians in the Med and start you in the right direction! Good Luck!

I don’t even think Ceta is a word
No it is not, Ceti is and SATA is an acronym :-D
-
Those were the designations from X-wing. Alpha Beta Ceta etc are greek designations.
It doesn’t really matter, the point was that the setups should have different names, instead of + - . 1 2 3 revisions numbers, since they are inherently different.
Which comes first? Alpha + or - .1?
-
There is no greek letter called ceta.
-
Alright kids just kiss and have makeup sex then get back on topic please.
Wait, don’t… I already put an end to this discussion quite effectively.

So that I may quote myself.

Yes there is a designation ceta, and it is a word. I never said it was a letter.
It is also the name of the name of the mountain Hercules climbs, builds an altar on, and burns himself to death at.
So beat it punks. And tell Larry to get his sht show together.

AA1942 was a finished rulebook. Everything was clear.
Now the game is evolving with air and naval bases, scramble, sneakattack, kamikase, new rules for neutrals, new canals, new tac bombers, new light infantry, new dog fights…
This is good, the game is evolving.
**Lets start thinking about:
-
tech trees specific to each power
-
fuel, amunition, food to supply to troops and warcraft**
-
-
New Canals? New rules for nuetrals?
-
new canals controled from land - Gibraltar, turquey, denmark
nem rules for neutrals(in comparison to aa1942)
-
I agree. I do not use Alpha in any way, shape, or fashion, although I also sometimes do a bid and I make Italy neutral until its 1st turn, otherwise, I don’t do anything else. Thank you IL for coming up with the Italy neutral idea.

Dude, Italy being neutral on the first round is an awesome idea. Italy officially didn’t enter the war until June 10, 1940. If we consider the invasion of Paris occurring on June 5 by the German forces, and all the turns are effectively happening simutaneously, then Italy has the OPTION to declare war on its turn, starting the game neutral to the Allies. Brilliant.
(Though 5 days is a bit of a stretch considering each turn in game represents 3 months…)
