This rule is part of the Axis & Allies Global 1940 2E, House Rules Expansion

For The Allies to be able - to some degree - to replace the severe losses of ships and transports during the early stages of the War, Landing Crafts are a plausible solution.

Though limited in numbers they still pose a serious threat for example to Axis-occupied Europe.

Landing Crafts are cheap, high value transportation means.

As I said before, just make landing craft give some kind of boost for landing infantry, like they attack at 2 on the first round, something like that.

Also, I agree landing craft are pretty much already in the game due to transports even existing however if you want to add landing craft, you can then “imply” that the transport without them are just docking at some port.

D12 version I use in a 1941 variant of HBG Global War:

Incorporates SPA / SPG / Motorized Infantry / Light & Medium Armor / Commander (General).

I use National Advantages to address Heavy Armor (Russia & Germany).

Cost/Move/Attack/Defense

INFANTRY: 3 / 1(2) / 2(3) / 4(6)
Combined Arms: Attack on (3) when supported 1:1 by Artillery or SPA.
Defend on (6) during 1st round of combat when supported by Fortification (10:1).
Move (2) during Combat or NCM when supported 1:1 by Mortorized Infantry.

ARTILLERY: 4 / 1(2) / 3 / 4
Combined Arms: Increase Infantry Attack to (3) when supported 1:1.
Move (2) during Combat or NCM when supported 1:1 by Mortorized Infantry.

SELF-PROPELLED ARTILLERY (SPA): 6 / 2 / 4 / 4
Combined Arms: Increase Infantry & Mech Infantry Attack +1 when supported 1:1.
Initial Bombardment: On Defense, successful hit results in immediate removal of enemy land unit.
Cannot Blitz.

MOTORIZED INFANTRY: 4 / 2 / 3 / 3
Transport (1) Infantry or (1) Artillery 2 spaces during Combat or NCM Move.
Cannot Blitz.

MECHANIZED INFANTRY: 5 / 2 / 3(4) / 4
Combined Arms: Attack on (4) when supported 1:1 by SPA or any Armor.
Combined Arms: Blitz when supported 1:1 by any Armor.

LIGHT ARMOR: 6 / 2 / 5 / 5
Combined Arms: Increase Mech Infantry Attack +1 when supported 1:1.
Combined Arms 1:1 allows Mech Infantry to Blitz.

MEDIUM ARMOR: 7 / / 2 / 6(7) / 6
Combined Arms: Attack on (7) when supported 1:1 by Tac Bomber.

Fixed number of Commanders per Nation. If destroyed, replaced on fixed turn schedule by nation.
Coordinated Attack: Provides (1) called shot against any Land unit during 1st round of Combat.
Organized Retreat: Allows Land & Air units to retreat after 1 full round of Combat. No Defense rolled in round 2.

Look you just tell me what you want and ill make a custom map (from my AA50) just for you to print off.

thats fair enough. But just don’t ask for all kinds of changes. I can make a few new territories and some changes, but i wont be making or drawing major modifications.

I’m sorry, your explaination is right, but I just cannot see America going:

“Oh shoot, Germany’s got 400 tanks in French West Africa, I’ll land in Rio de Oro instead!!”

So yea, I have to say, most of the neutrals really will never get used. They’ll be unscratched areas on the board until the day it disintegrates in the hands of an archeologist a billion trillion million years from now.

Some of the others are awesome! Tkae Mongolia to avoid Yak. Take Spain to avoid Sea Wall in Europe. Take Argentina to invade Brazil. Take Venezuela to liberate Brazil! Take Switzerland for….uhm…uhm…ere…uhm…CHOCOLATE! That’s it!
