If you read the top of page 11 you will see there is a new rule for V3 where you cannot combat move through a canal as you proposed. The example they give is exactly what you were talking about. You can still choose to do it the old way but either way that is one of the things you should have all of the players to agree to before the game begins. We always play it the new way.
+5 IPP for America if Italy attacks Free France?

If Italy was not at war with France but attacks Free France, does the US get +5 IPP. Rules say France. Perhaps should read “France or Free France” if the US does get 5 IPP

@sjelso I believe that that is probably a mistake. When in doubt, try and get the French to declare war for you.

The US NRS says France, not Free France. They are not the same power.
