I am missing the gameboard for an original boxed Nova Axis & Allies game. I have a picture of the gameboard…but not high enough quality to have printed out to actually play on. Anyone have a digital version of the gameboard? Or perhaps a nice high quality scan or photo?

This isn’t exhaustive but:

Mongolian rules changed a fair bit. minor to major factory in Berlin scramble rules became logical (1st ed: no scramble from coasts e.g. London but unlimited from islands) UK units added to starting units (converted from French units). Don’t know why. Ukraine minor factory added

Russia’s abilities in AAR seem to have been a mistake (IMHO) by the creator.  Back in the day, I had some pretty neat games where the United States mostly ignored Europe while Russia beat the ever livvin snot out of the Germans virtually single handedly. (You did need the Royal Air Force and the Royal Navy to generate threat and reinforce of course.)

Talk to me about the Russian triple one day.  I am not on that computer or I would repost it…won more games with that then any other version of Axis and Allies ever!

As for G42 it is geared toward tournament play, but it could be used as a way to teach Global more quickly. I like the idea of having nations like France having a role in WWII, but G42 short cuts much of the tedious wait because all the players are at war. It is a quickened version of G40, but it’s also a good alternative for players who need a shorter game session but like the complexity of Global.

I haven’t tried a F2F game yet but I would have an easier time getting a session in with the 42 set-up than Global. I also think G42 may pick up steam if it’s supported by the A&A community by and large due to the fact that we had five releases of the series less than than two years ago and won’t likey get another unless a second edition of 1914 is released.

Call me lucky then. Because I have Hellcats and Lightnings in my AA50 set. It has never been mixed or had anything added or taken away. If you look on the back of the box of Spring '42 first edition you will see a US Hellcat in Africa also, even though it was in that edition.

Hmm…very puzzling.  I don’t recall my copy of Anniversary containing Wildcats, so either I’m mistaken or I got a variant printing of it.
