well, whatever, I can roll it here.
So you’d get to roll your ftr 2 times

Ha, no worries. BTW I also noticed there were a couple of Pro-Axis you could have picked up but didn’t. You’re welcome to edit that and give yourself the extra cash if you want. (Or I can when I do my turn)

RE: TheVeteran VS OSB1987 G40 Alt. Universe Tournament Rd1
I apologize, I think you’re right that I may have mislead you earlier. I think I do remember saying something about 6 days on FB which wasn’t right since that would only be the last warning and need another 72 hours before the actual forfeit triggers.
Here’s the section of the League rules:
5e - “Bump” warning and consequences - Each “bump” warning resets the clock for another 72 hrs. However, on the 4th “bump” warning the offending player will be disqualified and declared the loser for that game. (Note: You get only 3 warnings per game.) You must post the warning when it happens (or before the next move has been made by your opponent). You cannot retroactively issue a “bump” warning. “Bump” warnings can be issued for posting of partial turns (for example, someone only posted their combat move), OOL requests, map questions, etc. but they follow the same 72 hour requirement. So yes, I think another 72 hours is required before I can feel comfortable calling it a forfeit as the moderator.

I’m not sure if it’s possible from mobile. I haven’t been able to find a way.

RE: TheVeteran VS OSB1987 G40 Alt. Universe Tournament Rd1
If you hover your mouse over the “3 days ago” it will pop up. At least that’s how it does it for my browser.

RE: TheVeteran VS OSB1987 G40 Alt. Universe Tournament Rd1
The time stamp on the latest post says 2 May 2022, 01:23 (eastern time), so still roughly 10 hours remaining on the 72 hour timer as far as I can tell.
The “3 days ago” would appear to be a rounded number.

RE: Unit count bug in battle
One thing to point out is that the origin of the error goes back to between round 4 and 5.
In round 4 ANZAC lands three planes on the US carries during combat movement. By ANZAC 5 those three fighters are already corrupted. If you open the game file at the start of ANZAC 5 or any point thereafter, you’ll noticed that if you try to move one of those fighters, the little movement space counter says 1/0 rather than 1/4, as in, these fighters have 0 total movement capacity. (although oddly you can still move them)
Interestingly, in round 5, two of the fighters attacked undefended transports, an action which is an auto-kill and doesn’t require an actual dice roll and disguises that they were already corrupted at that point.
The one fighter which came from Queensland on round 5 to join the fleet is uncorrupted, which is why it’s the only one able to attack Sumatra on round 6.
I tried for a while, but I’m still unable to replicate the error. Hopefully that narrows down the origin though.
BTW I pulled the older game files from here:

- Rules Doc available here: https://www.axisandallies.org/forums/topic/36740/1940-global-alternate-universe-g40-alt-universe
Bidding:
Players should randomly chose who will bid first. The initial bid should be in the form of “Alliance: #” where “Alliance” is either Axis or Allies and “#” is the IPC bid. The opponent should then either:
o Approve the bid
o Offer a lower # value (including into negative values)If a lower value is offered, then the decision will revert to the other player. This process should be repeated until a player approves a bid offered by their opponent.
When a bid is approved, the player who made it has purchased the right to play the alliance from the initial bid for the compensation of the agreed IPCs.
If the IPC bid is positive, it will go to the alliance from the initial bid. If the IPC bid is negative it will go to the opposite alliance as a positive value.
Spending the Bid:
Bid IPCs can either be allocated to the treasuries of the nations from the alliance receiving them or spent on additional units in the starting setup as follows:- Limit one bid unit in a territory or sea zone.
- The nation placing a unit in a territory or sea zone must have started with a unit in said territory or sea zone prior to placing the bid.
- China is limited to bid units of: Infantry, Artillery, AA Guns (the units China is legally able to purchase) These units are still limited to movement/placement restrictions of Chinese units.
Tournament Moderator:
@Contango will serve as rules and tournament moderator and will have ultimate decision authority over any rule/game/tournament dispute.Game Thread:
Thread title should include the names of both players, which side they are playing and that it is a G40 Alt-Universe game.Bid units should be declared in the first post of the thread.

RE: League General Discussion Thread
What are your thoughts on counting G40 Alternate Universe games towards league standings for 2022? I was reading the below part of the league rules:
“4a The default game rules may be modified by agreement of both players. Low Luck or Tech, with or without Tech Tokens, is allowed if you and your opponent agree prior to bidding. Balanced mod (see stickied League section thread for Balanced Mod rules) or any other ruleset using G40 is likewise allowed if agreed by players”
G40 Alternate Universe is based on G40 rules with some modifications. I appreciate this is a bit of a harder question now that the league is split into 3 categories. Perhaps it could count towards the 2nd Edition category?
More info about the map below if you need it:

RE: Post League Game Results Here
@simon33 said in Post League Game Results Here:
I think this is correct. In general there needs to be something new to keep players interested and PtV started with enthusiasm which dissipated when they divided SZ38. So with high bids in Balanced Mod and higher in G40, it seems that the interest is waning somewhat.
If you’re looking for something new to keep things fresh, might I suggest a game of G40 Alternate Universe? It’s roughly G40 OOB rules but on a completely fresh map:
https://www.axisandallies.org/forums/topic/36740/1940-global-alternate-universe-g40-alt-universe
It would be great if some experienced league players gave it a go. I don’t know if it could be counted towards league ratings or not, perhaps in the OOB category?
I’m also hoping to do a forum based tournament in the near future (similar to the league playoff) and have 4 players lined up already. If anyone is interested in joining that, please let me know.

RE: Possible New A&A Game
@ryandascienti said in Possible New A&A Game:
Point is, I need a program to design the boards and then print them out. Ideally I don’t want to buy Adobe, so something free to start with, but I’m open to ideas and spending a bit of cash.
I think GIMP is generally thought of as the poor man’s photoshop. I believe it has the vast majority of the abilities that photoshop has, although it might take more steps to get the same result. There are lots of helpful YouTube videos about how to do things in GIMP though.
I used GIMP to make a custom map, but at the end of the day wished I’d just payed for photoshop. It’s not because I couldn’t get the job done with GIMP, but just for compatibility. For example, I tried to give my GIMP file to an experienced artist friend to do some work on, but I wasn’t able to convert the GIMP file to a Photoshop file without a loss of information. (layers/vectors and such)
