15L Boldfresh (Allies+16) vs JuanSpain (Axis)

Have Fun and Good Luck Sir!
Boldfresh takes a fighter in Moscow, Inf Yunnan and Inf Guinea.
I usually assume what I consider fair play rules:
Edits accepted for: NCM prior to next opponent move, casualty selection or purchase change when no dice or other combats info is involved on that change, Triple A bug correction. If NCM where anticipated to CM but no info from the other combats is relevant, I accept those edits too. Generally speaking, when the player corrects his/her own mistakes not taking advantage of the information available: i.e. knowing combat results or opponent next move.
Other requests like low luck rerolls or other kind of edits would be accepted only with the consent of the opponent.
Defense Casualty selection and scramble decisions taken by attacker when “logical” in order to speed up the game, requested to opponent in other case. If the “logical” decision is not shared by opponent afterwards, forum dice can be launched to correct it or even the turn can be repeated (very unusual).
No tech, regular luck.
We can discuss different rules if you wish.
guess i should have asked for a LL reroll in the game changing Germany/USSR battle. didn’t want to though because i thought it would be a fun challenge, which it was. the killer was once i saw you put the entire europe map at risk by putting your whole stack there to be killed, i didn’t give much thought to the pacific move, since usa should have been able to almost exclusively build in the pacific after russia started moving on germany.
oh well, instant classic i guess - the dice have their say and sometimes that say is to completely throw a giant wrench into the game. i prefer that to low luck any day - it’s the SPICE :-D
-
i don’t remember exactly what led me to leave the fleet to be slaughtered (and didn’t you roll way up in that battle as well? that might have been the calculation, that if it went to odds it wouldn’t be good for you). and if the russians had succeeded in wiping out the german stack, you would probably have tried to consolidate japan and not even made that attack who knows. part of the problem for me was this game occurred at a time where i’ve never been more busy and i was also trying to play multiple games against top opponents.
anyway, would be great if i can make the playoffs and get you in the draw, since i doubt you are interested in a league rematch… :-P
you’re a lot of fun to play, you are very courteous and play regularly, so i look forward to playing again. just let me know when you’re up for a game.
-
although it may sound like i’m conceding, i’m not YET. i prefer to make you roll the dice, because who knows what can happen (as we have seen all too well).
-
juan, if you make it to the playoffs, i hope your dice show up too…Â :-o
Yeahh, it is the only way I could win rounds there…, but still a lot of work to do to get in. With the elite category, things are difficult. One of the first 8 positions is going to be much harder this year tan last. In example Wheat got 8 last year and look this year… so I don´t see it easy, even with this 6-0.

I think this was definately a dice game, that is the key for my win (if I finally get it as it seems now), but the battle in Pacific was average, that was your only mistake I think, but a relevant mistake.
I think you were not paying enough attention to the game at that moment, may be because you were easily winning at that time and you were moving some more games at the same time, and may be you thought that given China was free, no 6 VCs could happen in Pacific (my usual way to win…), but Japan could resolve Europe as they are doing if given a big advantage like it happened.Your strategy was by far better tan mine and you proved to be better player as I expected.
Also a gent, so for me would be a pleasure playing again in this league against you when you wish.
And given the game is going to be a dice win, revenge is something that I should offer.
I am happy to restart the game again with same bid and sides when we finish this one if you wish.

Dice for Russia were above average, but Germans were so superior now that there was no real chance… it was more about a miracle to happen.
I will retreat the russian mech and move japan. This is over I think.
