@cds Also…air only attacks against subs are allowed in this game. The way we usually play is the air units get one round of attack and any subs left are submerged.

I messed up and tried to bomb Rostov… your Italian planes blended in quite nicely :-) I didn’t beg for forgiveness or whatever, just decided on a brazen daylight bobing run and got shot down.
Caucasus is going to be a tough nugget to crack. UK is good at sending in waves of infantry, and US can build some fighters.
But my debacle in Burma will get you India a round early, and the game is on. I’ve made London pretty safe, and it’s an 8 VC game on the Europe map, so this is settling in to have many more turns… a classic.

Yes indeed!! I messed up with my Japanese transports as well. Nevermind allowing you to take Rostov back for that one turn. Super fun game though. US has what it is always looking for… a way to place units immediately on the ground:)
-
Give me an order of loss in Caucasus. Pretty sure I am going to attack even though the odds are against me:)
-
I threw down in Caucasus without hope of keeping it, but I wanted to cause a headache!
To be honest, it depends how you do on the first round, because I have to choose my options based on if I think you’re strafing or not. So for example, I’d like to keep my bombers, so if you roll poorly on your first round, I will. If you clobber me in round 1, I’ll probably lose them - does that make sense?
So could you roll the first round and come back and let me know what you brought to the battle, and how many hits you got?
-
makes perfect sense!!! Usually the first round of rolling in big battles ends up being the deciding round since it can swing the battle so much. I will be sure to wait. If I hit above odds (unlikely) then take bombers?
-
I think I’ve decided - keep the bombers round one regardless of what happens, then before you roll the second round, talk to me.
Please lose french infantry first, UK next.
-
Got it!! Only thing left is to do your turn:)
-
Nice… I had no idea it was my turn…

There, that’s better… :-D
-
First round done. I only got 17 hits which was under odds (surprise, surprise :-D)
Kept your bombers and lost your frenchies.
You killed everything smaller than tanks. I rolled german second round and got 12 hits. What you want to do?
-
Gotta say, I have just been waiting for a break here in two games and it just hasn’t come :-( (sob, sob)
The 4 out of 7 2’s you rolled with your destroyers seems pretty detrimental right now. I had a couple rounds in Japan where you missed a lot so I just knew that when those destroyers were sitting there they had their scopes ready for the Germans since it was such an important move :-D
Oh well… what can you do but bitch and whine like I am right now :-D
-
Time to lose the bombers, I’ll play defense by the numbers… now it’s my turn to cry!
29 hits in two rounds sounds well above average to me… I had this as a win for me, but it sounds like you’re going to clear me out.
-
I take it back - keep the bombers for another turn, and let me know what happens.
I’d like to lose infantry followed by artillery followed by mech, then we’ll talk :-D
-
I was supposed to get 18 - 19 hits on my first turn and 13 - 14 on my second. I think you hit slightly under odds as well. I didn’t expect to win but was just hoping I could catch a break and I had to stop the virus that is the uk/us.
I got 8 hits. That takes out all your ground units and 3 planes. You should get 7 hits which would take out all but 5 bombers. I assume you want the bombers to get taken out but I will wait to hear from you. I got a busy day tomorrow so if you don’t respond before 6:30 pacific (9:30) I won’t be home till late afternoon!
-
Yes - at this point I’ll take out the US bombers… have to keep the fighters as long as possible.
