Hey I have an idea.  My strategy is screwed right now because of that italian attack.  So you can count that game s a loss.

How about if we say that you managed to sink ALL of my UK ships last turn. This round UK bought 3 subs instead of 2 and a destroyer, and moved all units to Scotland instead of Ireland.  I think if we do that the allies can beat sea lion.  Want to try it?

and if I feel like 2 ftrs 2 bmbs aren’t enough, I just build an AC or two with a dst, which admittedly puts me in a bad way against russia, but with all that american fleet coming, might be worth the investment

You see, my idea here is that your 26 divisions are either lost attacking Scotland without air cover, or your fleet gets sunk this round and the 26 divisions are trapped on the island.  You need to bring them all too, because of that big American invasion force threatening to liberate London on USA5, with the Scotland force as the second wave.  It’s a pretty tight spot.

The problem is that in order to construct your ship blocks, you lost infantry, and now my 26 don’t even need much air support, but there are ways to bring it anyway – by building ACs.

and I won’t let you have those ship blockers so easily in future games, and in most games the Italians would have a more sizeable can opening air force.  Italian air has taken some hits.

Of course, she would remind you that she won the temporary VCs with Japan, but I knocked out her German fleet.

Tell you what, let’s continue the game as is.  I made a mistake but I still think USA and USSR can give you a good run for your money.  Next time though, if I ever see someone do this sea lion thing, all units go to Scotland.
