Note that I changed my buy from two infantry to one infantry and a tank (I had two IPCs left, so that’s possible).

  • @the_good_captain Sorry for being late, I had to think about my turn.

    Two notes:

The message that the transport would die was weird, it didn’t even die. I got after that message another message, asking if I wanted to attack the submarine. When I chose I didn’t want to, nothing weird happened. The transport stayed where it was.

My intention was to strafe Archangel, in order to destroy as many units as possible, without losing too many of my own. What happened, almost all of my units scored a hit, and none of yours scored a hit. Now my tanks are dangerously exposed!

  • @victoryfirst R8.tsvg

the battle calc said you had a 25% chance of that happening. I usually am very nervous if it goes over 10% (in one round of combat). I think it was a good move for you still as it was/is getting hard for the axis at this point. I think you played it right.

  • @VictoryFirst your turn my friend

  • @the_good_captain Oh dear, how were you able to defeat my Japanese army? I didn’t bother checking, as I thought I almost was able to take Stalingrad he definitely wouldn’t be able to defeat me. And I thought you had only one tank, instead of eleven xD

Well, that is going to be another concession on my part. Very well played again. With this game and the tournament game we had, I came to the conclusion that the tank spam is not a good idea. The Axis have a higher income, but never a higher TUV if they tank spam. And in our tournament game, the Axis got an income superiority but as well a TUV superiority, which was only growing. So, I guess the infantry spam is a lot better, as it allows you to create huge armies on multiple sections of the front.

It reminds me of a variant of G40 (which I highly recommend, I will put more information in an e-mail to you), where I also thought tank spam might be good (as in OOB G40). But this always created a massive collapse in the front somewhere. Actually, buying massive stacks of infantry is best, as most of them die in combat, and when you run out of infantry, you also run out of the new strong units that variant has.

Shall we do a rematch again? With me as the Axis? I feel like trying out the infantry spam Axis strategy. If you agree to it of course.

  • @victoryfirst Oh, and with checking, I meant checking it with the battle calculator.
