Danish threat
-
So the Danish tournament
Scandinavian Open 09 has started. So far there is 1 group in Copenhagen. Hopefully Oslo and Aalborg will join us.
1st game in the group was Brian vs. Ghostglider. Winner….Ghostglider, but Brian
sure kept Ghostglider on his toes. 3 points Ghostglider.Bjergmose played a game vs. Jens (JAP) and John (GER/IT) and couldn´t hit s*** :-o
Some games are like that, and the fact that I do not enjoy playing the allies doesn´t help my game. Not yesterday anyways. But things will change when I enter the tournament next monday. No doubt about it. :-DRules for the tournament, which will have it´s playoffs and finals last weekend of january in Copenhagen;

The results from yesterdays games just in…
Scandinavian Open 09
Jens vs. Ghostglider 0-3 (6-14)
Axis bought a factory but no one wanted to work there. And Graf Zeppelin turned out
to be useless. Mother Russia swept thru´ europe all alone.
Q:"Wasn´t it a gamble to go naval against Ghostglider?"
Jens:“You have to gamble against Ghostglider…plan A isn´t good enough against him”
Brian vs. Bjergmose 1-2 (10-10)
A large axis navy and a factory in France kept Germany alive to the end. But the
russians could throw back the japanese with Germany struggling. Japanese factory in
India turned British and backfired. So Bjergmose pulled a minor victory. 11 VC vs. 7.Note to last week. The japanese thrown into the sea was in Asia…not Japan itself.

The results from the small session yesterday!
Only Ghostglider and myself GrafZeppelin(Jens) were present, and decided to play our outstanding tournament match.
Scandinavian Open 09
Jens vs.Ghostglider 3-0 (12-8)
While the scattered Japanese remnants were forced to send in their fleet to take back Italy from the Americans. Berlin was captured by the mighty panzer divisions of the Red army .
Okay… luck wasn’t exactly evenly distibuted in this game. 6 Japanese fighter planes shot down over mainland China makes it a bit difficult to put sufficient pressure on Russia.
Needless to say, I am however, rather pleased with the fact that I secured three points, and especially against Ghostglider. :-D

Cool Graf Z
Ghostglider was the one to beat. :-D but not anymore.
See you in 14 days…work calls next week

Monday = Axis&Allies :-D
John, Ghostglider and myself GrafZeppelin present.
decided to play 2vs.1 41’ w/NO’s w/tech.
I was first to choose and took Ger/It, Ghostglider aching for re-match from last week quickly chose allies, leaving the Japs for John.
The game took no more than 2 hours, as Allies hit everything and Axis hit nothing :-P
Japs failed to destroy the UK trn in India, which allowed the allies to build a factory in India they could easily hold (building 3 super-subs R2) that combined with Americans hitting longe range aircraft also in R2, more or less sealed it for the Axis by R5. An interesting side-note in this game was that the Axis never hit any tech while the allies had 5 techs combined (Russia 2).
That’s now 6 matches in a row with the Allies as the victor :?

I thought I saw Ghostglider on his bike when my work was done…
but couldn´t believe it at nine o´clock.
Now I understand why he didn´t notice me…me was riding on a axis-coloured cloud :-DOn a different note…I´ll buy ´42 tomorrow just to see what´s what.
240,- kr. at Fantask.
If we are an odd number of players next week we can give it a try :-) -
Count me in!
I’m kinda hoping for an odd number now :-D
See you Monday

Short update :-D
Thursday Brian played against Ghostglider and lost in another close game.

3 guys present. Bjergmose got last choice = allies.
Brian took control of GER/IT and Jens played JAPAN.
Short game. The Germans tried to bottle up the med with a factory in France.
But it left the Russians untamed and running wild. 2nd round the Red army had both NO´s and 4th round the Axis surrendered. To Brians defence he didn´t hit much…it is hard to win when you don´t kill any enemies :roll:In the not so distant future we are playing Thursdays…from next week.
Brian has to teach his wife-to-be some dance-moves :-) -
Thursday evening battles;
Brian finally got a victory against John. Judging by the outbursts from their table Brian was blessed with divine dices :-D or was John cursed?
7 rounds and the axis ruled the world.Brian vs. John 3-0 (13-7)
Bjergmose and Ghostglider clashed in their selftitled clash of the titans (titanic egos anyways ). Due to Ghostgliders long way home we have to finish this game next week. After 7 rounds Japan doesn´t have a navy and the chinese rules mainland Asia. Germany still hangs on and the Italians seems like the strongest part of the axis now. Looking forward to settle this once and for all….3 rounds to go.
Standings: G- P-(Score)

Back again :-D
The game between Ghostglider and Bjergmose that had to be postponed and finished yesterday ended with a small victory to Bjergmose. Unfortunately we had to reconstruct the game in our heads, as the room we play in had to be used for some other purpose during the week. After a lot of talking back-and-forth we agreed that it would most likely have ended with a minor victory in round 10 to Bjergmose.
Last night John smashed Ghostglider with his mighty axe(is) :-o
The germans took Caucasus 2nd round and held it. 6 rounds and the allies were done.Bjergmose played against the-god-of-dice´s secret son Brian :-D
Brian played the allies securing a win in 8th round.
Normally I don´t cry because of bad luck with the dices…but yesterday people could follow me home…trail of tears
Allies attack Berlin 4 inf 4 rt 3 ftr vs. 11 arm. 1st round 10 hits vs 3. D´oh.
Okay…no panic I can retake Berlin and hold it next round. And I still have a shot at Moscow held w/4 inf. All I need is to punch a hole in the russian perimeter.
Ftr vs. inf = no go
Bmb vs. arm = no go
Okay italians then
Arm vs. arm = no go
2 inf vs. arm = no go.
I could go on all day…crying over lost battles…nah, Brian deserved it. He attacked when possible, and never let up. 8-)Ghostglider vs. Bjergmose 1-2 (10-10)

Quick log.
Training session thursday.
Brian played allies vs. John (GER/IT) and Bjergmose (JAP).
The japanese went all-in against the US 1st round having 4 trn w/8 ground units backed by 4 ftr´s on ac, but the US countered buying 2 ac and a ftr. The US now kept focus on the pacific but their threat slowly thinned out. This left the germans strong and the italians even stronger. :-)
The germans brought down Moscow around round 6 securing the win. -
Back in business :-D
After a looong time we managed to play another tournament game.
Last thursday we were 6 men present.Jens ran over John in 3 short rounds annihilating the russians.
Bjergmose played a training game vs. Brian that wasn´t decided after 6 hrs.
No-one was willing to quit, so we might have to continue thursday.
Berlin was under pressure, but so was Moscow. We´ll see what the result will be.Ghostglider teached newcomer Frank a lesson in Revised.
And now to something completely different.
On the 11th of october Ghostglider took his 2nd Danish Championship (Revised ed.)with John as runner-up. :-)
Luckily the wind now seems to be blowing in a new direction….AE50.Jens vs. John 3-0 (17-3)

New club-record…7 man present thursday. Soon we´ll need a bigger place :-)
1 tournament game. John ruled 1st round axis against Bjergmose leaving the allies fighting up-hill. The germans took Caucasus 2nd round, never giving it back. Bjergmose managed to hang on for 8 rounds but Moscow fell. The allies tried a desperate attack against Italy but was easily repulsed.
Ghostglider (GER/IT) and Allan (JAP) teamed up against Brian, who came prepared for everything…except the annoying thing that the axis didn´t move according to Brians scheme
New guys Frank and Jakob battled it out in Revised…they hadn´t finished when I left.
John vs. Bjergmose 3-0 (12-8)
Standings: G- P-(Score)
Ghostglider.6 10 (58-62)
John……5 9 (50-50)
Brian…6 7 (61-59)
Bjergmose…5 7 (49-51)
Jens…4 6 (42-38) -
Oh dices…why have you forsaken me.
Re-match against John…re-result against John. Re-1st round dice against John.
To avoid fainting…keep repeating…it´s just a game…it´just a game.
Bjergmose (yours truly) played axis and lost. Lost 2 subs and a ftr against the Hood.
Lost 1 inf and 2 arm against 2 russian inf (attacked w/1 inf 5 arm). Lost 5 zeros in the pacific leaving the Indian transport to bug me. :x
Game was over when;G4 luftwaffe attack US ac w/2 ftr protecting 3 UK trn. A win would give the Germans 2 rounds without invasion. 3 ftr 1 bmb = 0 hits. 1 ac 2 ftr = 3 hits.
GAME OVER :cry:Brian played axis against AE-rookies Jakob and AE-rookie Frank upgrading 2 more players to AE. Maybe a 7-man tournament next year? Judging by Brians outburts he didn´t have any luck. If there is one thing I can´t stand it is a axis-player who cries over his dicerolls
I ran home before they finished so result is coming next time.Last weeks REvised Frank took Tokyo ´cos Jakob forgot to place units in his capitol :?
Bjergmose vs. John 0-3 (5-15)

Top match at the club :-)
Ghostglider played John battling for 1st place.
Ghostglider reigned supreme securing an 8th round victory.Meanwhile the revised table once again attracted Jakob and Frank in their
eternal struggle. Undecided when the papers went to the press :?Allan played allied against Bjergmose and Brian literally killing us.
I´ve played faster opponents by e-mail.
I learned a new word from boardgamegeek…bean counters.
If anyone deserves that description it must be Allan.
And the worst part is that he won. The 2008 DM was played with a 5 min.
max/turn…at the time I found it overkill…but now I´m not so sure.Ghostglider vs. John 3-0 (12-8)
Standings: G- P-(Score)
Jacob 7 13 (70-70)
John 7 12 (73-67)
Brian 6 7 (61-59)
Bjergmose 6 7 (54-66)
Jens 4 6 (42-38)Now we just need Jens back in business…where you at Jens…Graf Z please report….
-
Still no word from the elusive Graf Z 8-)
But the man with the longest win-win record is back….introducing the one-and-only
von Smedman. Yesterday he played against Frank and it looked like an Axis win when I left, leaving von Smedman undefeated since January…the fact that he hasn´t played a game in between is irrelevant :-DGhostglider once more conquered the world…this time steamrolling “Fast-as-lightning” Allan.
4 rounds of allied fury and it was over.Brian and the top-dawg (me) tried our first game of Guadalcanal…probably screwing up as we went along  I just read today that we were supposed to get double income…but hey, at least we got the same. All 6 rounds we had 3 islands each. The deciding factor was the US being able to build an airfield one round before emperor Brian. A last minute airfield attack only resulted in 1 hit securing my 1st Guadalcanal-win.
Now I am waiting, with evergrowing anxiety, for the arrival of my Pacific 40 game at the local game shop Fantask :-)
-
Last game(s) 2009.
29th of december 10 o´clock.
6 man present Graf Z, Jakob, Brian, Frank, Ghostglider and me… and 3 sparkling new Pacific 40 :-D fresh from old Santa himself. When the dust had settled Ghostglider was on the top of the pile…again :-P
4 games 4 victories to the main man.
Your man on the spot - Bjergmose - had 2 games 2 victories.
Graf Z was 2-1
Jakob 1-2
Frank 0 for 3
Brian 0 for 3Japan won 5…allies 4.
The feeling about the new game was that everyone enjoyed it (maybe not Brian as much as the rest of us :-)). Every game seemed different…can´t wait ´till Europe next year.
As for me the total score this year is;
Pacific ´40 2-0 100%
Guadalcanal 1-0 100%
Revised 0-1 can´t compute
AE50 22-4-12 0.632
axis 11-1-6 0.639
allies 11-3-6 0.625See you all next year 8-)

Jens vs. Brian -
Last week work needed my attention.
There were 3 rookies present, so the club was crowded…8 players 8-)Ghostglider (G/I) and Brian (J) won against John and Daniel.
In the other game Jakob and Svenning lost with the axis vs. Allan and Thomas. This week it was time for me to shine securing a much needed win against Ghostglider.
By G2 the Royal Navy was annihilated and the Russians SBR´ed 16 down. End of story.
What…the japanese…oh…they kinda forgot to secure their Sumatra IC and ran into heavy fire in Manchuria destroying 4 Zeros thereby leaving the AC alone (and an easy australian-based US-bomber-target). I had him…buried…and then I give him the chance to come back
Allright…new plan…we´ll throw out Graf Z from the tournament ´cos he had to many no-shows. :|Other games thursday;
John (axis) looked like he was beating Jakob.
Brian (G/I) and Frank (J) forced Allan to his knees 6th round (German and Japanese heavy bombers helped a lot) :-)Bjergmose vs. Ghostglider 0-3 (5-15)
