      Oh well yes for sure!
      The seaplanes on  the deck of the sub would most certainly be sunk by the underwater super secret FlaK guns!
      I mean that is what they were designed to do don’t you know. :-P

      No.  Since there are no air bases on either island, it is a six-space move to get from Midway to New Zealand.  A bomber could do it, but not a fighter.  Incidentally, air units can fly over enemy units, so you wouldn’t have to control everything between the two islands.

      @sanya33:

      1. you can mobilze only a number of units up to the income value of that territory. does this include land units only? or air and sea units as well?

      It includes all units.

      @sanya33:

      2. can defending planes retreat ?

      No.  The only thing close to a retreat for defending planes occurs when their carrier is sunk out from under them.  If the fighters survive the combat, either because the attacker retreats or is destroyed, they must find a place to land within one space or be lost.

      Retreat is a movement away from the forces that are attacking you.  It has nothing to do with where the front lines are.  If you attack in such a way as to allow the enemy to retreat forward, that’s your problem!  :wink:

      @sanya33:

      i just bought AAG and i played it for the first time last night.

      3 questions about the rules:

      1. when it says ‘move battleships, destroyers etc’ can they move if they are in a combat situation? so move them out of combat?

      Yes you may. Your units are not locked in combat. They are free to move or load during the appropriate segments.

      2. it’s my turn and i play 2nd. during a land attack  i lose an artillery. can i use this lost artillery to attack back during my round? (like most AA games)

      My understanding is that casualties are not removed till the end of the phase except in the case of subs. Units get a chance to shoot back.

      3. in order to damage my enemy’s airfield do i have to destroy all of his land pieces first??

      thanks, sanya  :roll:

      Nope. You just need two hits from bombers or ships.

      @dinosaur:

      In the current situation (board is not here where I can see it) I think 2 Japanese fleets may be able to reach Hawaii.  My thinking is that they can’t afford to do this attack because they can’t afford the losses even if they did come out numerically ahead in IPCs.

      After turn one Japan has to concentrate on consolidation and maybe picking off straggling Allies units. Japan can afford no signifigant losses of material.

      Me too.  We were using one supply token for every ship sent and only sending them during the resupply phase.  We were spending huge amounts of money getting ships onto the board.  No wonder our game was dragging on way past turn five.

      ?

      Correct.

      The ONLY way you can get paid for an allied territory is:
      1.  Your ally’s capital has already fallen from the enemy
      2.  You take territory that originally belonged to an ally from the enemy

      Note that even if, for example, Moscow has fallen, USA cannot get paid for Archangel unless they take it from Germany or Japan.  Simply landing in Archangel while it is still “Russian controlled” simply keeps it RUSSIAN.

      Sanya33, you may see the thing in the following way if the fighter belong the same nationality of the Aircraft Carrier.
      At the start of that nation turn fighters from carrier are launched and start their “fly operations”. They are in the air upon the same sea zone in wich the carrier is. From that moment they can go in combat, the same in wich you, in case, send the AC or in another, on sea or on land. They can also stay in air in the sea zone until the end of non combat move.
      At the very end of non combat move you must land your fighter somewhere. So they must reach a territory or a sea zone in wich they can legally land: a territory you own from the start of the turn or the same carrier from wich they start, or another carrier, even one of an allied nation.
      Or, if they moved to fight a battle in a sea zone, without the carrier, the AC can move and they perform a “rendez vous” to land.
      Summarizing the fighters and the AC act independently for all the turn and are not bound in doing the same movement.

      England also has pieces spread out all over the map, so it’s better to have one player focused solely on England and it’s pieces to keep them moving in the right direction.

      1.  No, this includes land, air, and sea units placed in any adjacent seazones.

      2. No, territories can only be claimed by land units.

      3. It has to be in an IC.

      4. Only for anti-aircraft.  Submarines opening fire is for their attack value (2 or 3 with super subs technology), and the battleships bombardment hits on a 4.

      5. Yes, the bomber can land in brazil, as it is friendly territory.  The 3 IPCs from Brazil are already included in the USA’s production, so theres no need to add them in.

      Once again, only land units can capture territory.

      If your opponent is afraid of AA guns, bring them forward.  If s/he doesn’t care, leave them behind except when they can attack you with at least 4 fighters.

      ?

      ONLY if you have the Combined Bombardment technology.

      Otherwise, ONLY the Battleship fires, and then only once for the entire battle, and then only if it did not engage in combat the same turn as the amphibious landing.
