The Production Chart at the top of this page is for some version of A&A Global 1940 (the admixture of A&A Europe 1940 and A&A Pacific 1940). While nifty looking, it won’t help you much with A&A Revised.

This production chart is for the Milton Bradley version of A&A. Again, nifty looking, but it won’t help you much with A&A Revised.

By finding BGG, you’ve hit on a source of information about A&A, you just haven’t found the right mine shaft to explore. Instead of looking at BGG’s Nova Games & Milton Bradley A&A page, try BGG’s Avalon Hill A&A (A&A Revised) page. Yes, they are both “helpfully” named “Axis & Allies”. This is both technically correct and wildly unhelpful. That said, the BGG A&A Revised page has much information, to include:
A picture of the production and weapons development charts for Milton Bradley Axis & Allies and Avalon Hill Axis & Allies, AH on top and MB on bottom.(source)

But there are also resources on this website that can help you. The front page to the site has a link to “Rules & Downloads”. Going there will land you on a page of basic information about the different A&A games. Scroll down until you get to the “Axis & Allies Revised (2004)” section. You will have two options, a link to download a pdf version of the rules for the game and a link to a setup chart for the game. The setup chart gives you the unique information found on Reference Chart for the Soviets (the rest of the information on the chart is about the names, abilities, and prices for the units in the game, information that is duplicated both in the rule book and on the other four reference charts.

If you want to duplicate the look of a reference chart, combine the reference chart from another country with the setup from here. You might find a picture of another country’s reference chart here.

Just wanted to mention another place to play online, which probably won’t be going AA50 anytime soon (so if you want a place to play Revised for a while, it’d fit the bill): the IAAPA, which can be found at axisandallies.net
This is one of the oldest A&A clubs around, and these folks are so old school that most of the gaming there is still 2nd edition!  That’s right, Revised is cutting edge at the IAAPA.  However, don’t be too quick to dismiss them, they have some very good players including some very good Revised players.  I’ve played in a number of their Revised tournaments (they have three per year) and have never made it to the finals.

The detail turned out pretty well considering this was from a bit image as opposed to a vector image.

So, how does one play on this map? How are the rules different and how is it initially setup? And, what are these convoy boxes? I’m completly out of the loop on this thing.

Hey lord BTW the 8/8 and 8/6 means it rolls a secondary attack. German Jet fighters have this because they were able to use their speed to attack a fighter two times in the time it would take that prop plane to get a good look at a Me-262. They were able to even ignore fighters and strike at bombers and then get a pass at the fighters again.

Battleships get a secondary attack that is not preemtive. The first (highter number) is a preemtive attack.

The carriers take 2 hits

german Type XX1 is preemtive even against destroyers and cruisers

Katyuskas are preemtive

self propelled artillery hits go against tanks first

armor hits go against artillery or armor

infantry must go on infantry first

Artillery attack preemtively in the first round only

Tanks +1 attack with matching plane 1/1

Infantry +1 attack with matching artillery 1/1

Artillery +1 movement with matching armor 1/1

many other rules make the numbers look more understandable. Many ask why does a battleship etc. attack twice… but if you look at the other rules as a whole the values are perfect.

you may find it more efficient to get 1-3 games in at the same time you would get 1 game in on a actual board.
but I wont argue with you there either. you probably are to much of a die-hard actual board fan :) which is cool. I liek the board a lot to. Glad the new one came out, I only played classic twice and didn’t really like it.

Revised edition is much better. Except for neutral countries…we should be able to invade them as the axis.
