    Yes.  It’s a bit awkwardly worded, it should be more like National Objective #2 for Russians: Spread of Communism.

    It’s always a nice idea to try and get Russia some of Italy’s African territory or Iraq for the extra IPCs, but it is terribly impractical because it takes forever to get a Russian unit over there.  That kind of scheme is probably best saved for scenarios where you get a G1 and can immediately sent somebody into the Middle East.

    I like it a lot since you are saving a turn of movement and the price of a Transport if you already sailed to Java earlier and were sunk by the Japanese.  A pretty big value for 3 IPC.

    @PGMatt:

    From a purely discusion point of view, holding off attacking with Japan is making me feel like I’m fighting uphill in the pacific.  The idea, of course, was to hold the US out of Europe, but blaa, I feel like I’m slogging now.

    SZ97 scramble?

    FYI, since I was making a wipe-out attack in SZ20 I went with max defense for your losses so you’d hurt me as much as possible.  If you preferred a different OOL I’m happy to redo that if you like.  I can edit the British map to reflect any revised battles.

    Regarding the Japan DoW, I think everyone’s first instinct out of the box is to keep the US out of the war as long as possible, but that actually runs counter to Japan’s interests.  I think J2 is the latest you should wait and J1 is probably better.  In a KJF the USA needs to finish off Japan before Germany can finish off Russia, which gets easier if the Japanese player allowed the US a couple of turns to pre-position all their units for maximum affect.
