Yes its on my top 5 movie list post! This was broadcast on Soviet television in the late 70’s and the effort spared no expense for extras because they used actual Soviet soldiers and the budget was basically unlimited. The portrayal all the Germans and Soviets is extremely good. The sets are very realistic and the battles consist of perhaps 10,000 or more soldiers, plus hundreds of tanks ( the germans are mostly tiger 1’s and some decent mockups of elephant and panther). all the battlefield combat scenes are panoramic which is IMO the only way to film a war movie. You can literally see the 10,000 soldiers. 5 movies were presented Stalingrad ( 2 parts) Kursk Operation Bagration Assault of Berlin however no english subtitles of this exist. My girlfriend has to translate for me ( shes from Odessa). You wont find any copies of this with english either. I have tried for many years to do this but to no avail. I own all these movies and they are amoung my favorite of all time. It will cost you at least 100 bucks for the set of movies, unless you rent them from a russian video store and make copies.

That is not fully true marine… :roll: Everything has a predator in the ocean, there is something on that list that could eat the Jellyfish without dying. But not all of the Jellyfish stings. Only there spaghetti like legs(I’m not sure if you call them flagella on a Jelly…)can sting you! So therefore, something could eat the top of it and weaken it enough that it can’t do anything!

Italy was openly hostile to Austria-Hungary. No way she was going to fight for Austria-Hungary in an offensive war. That said, even if she did. Ask yourself, if the weak and ineffective Hapsburg army could curb stomp the Italians for 3 years, what makes you think the French would have any sort of difficulty?  Not to mention the barely functioning Italian economy would have collapsed within a few weeks due to British naval blockade. Italy would have been not but another corpse for Germany to be shackled too.

Being from the A&M area, but still a Texan, I had a little heart in the game for the Longhorns.  It’s been a while since I’ve watched any sports, but the bowl games this weekend were exciting.  Now, if only the “Professional” athletes would play like the college guys, then maybe they’d be worth a fraction of what they really get paid. However, that game could have gone either way.  They are both great teams.  There never is a number 1.  It was an awesome game, and I’m glad it was so close.
