Hey dudites, I forgot to give an update on my 2 Nazi Dip games of last weekend.
GAME 1: USSR(Allies) won as the game was similar to usual, just slowed JPN down, enabling USSR to eat GRMNY then build everything in Russiato face JPN just in time. GRMNY had bad rolls in AfricaTook it late) and against Luftwaffe(lost it early). UK built/held the IND IC well(3 ftrs helped) and slowly added to North Sea fleet for invasions of F/N and W EUR. JPN goofed (sent inf to FIC on J3) delaying invasion of USSR til J4.
US took SOL IS & N GNE IS(+3 IPCs on US4) and BOR/CLBS & E IND (5 IPCs on US5). US used subs to keep IJN & JPNAF in N PAC.USSR met US @ the Manchurian coast.
GAME 2:USSR chewed on German(but lost ftr early) and slowed Japan. Germany took Africa quicklyand Mideast(G5) and UK(G8). UK lost fleet (by G2) and built too much in India (to be able to block Germany’s fleet built G7). Japan took 1-2 countries each turn and lost 1- 2 each turn through J7. After G9 USSR was on defensive completely and US was slowed against Japan by building an inf or 2 each turn to prepare for German’s attack. USSR fell on J12 and the game was called there. Germany was preparing to invade US on G14-G15.
AXIS VICTORY was declared!
I think it will be more fun the next time we play as we each got a feel for Nazi Diplomacy .
P.S.- We liked my assigned IPCs(see previous post) for the Pacific Isles as it made the US stretch if it wanted big #s. Japan had to go for Hawaii and protect its assets. It was odd that the US did better on a low sweep (8 IPCs) than a slow push (-3 to + 5 IPCs). - Xi
