  • I don’t expect any sympathy here, but I just lost 8 (yes, 8) extra units in SZ6. Every single unit was a 10 + IPC unit… fighters, tacs, bombers, and a battleship.

Considering that in theory I would have just established Pacific dominance (tons of aircraft, plenty of capital ships to rebuild, control of DEI and India) - that was a mortal wound.

Did I leave you a juicy target?

  • Yes, and I would attack it again 100 out of 100 times. Destroying the three US carriers will limit the ability to leapfrog and bring your air power to as many positions, and will limit versatility. Because of your aircraft, I planned on taking all of my naval units as casualties, and having 8 aircraft leftover on Japan, to be the foundation for a new navy - very realistic considering a roaring 85 IPC economy + the foundational units moving to Phillipines to consolidate.

My first round of rolls I got two total hits   I was lucky to have mutual annhilation at that point.

Based on our first game, it’s hard for me to complain… but here I am  :-)

Anyhow, have fun at game 2 tonight! You’re a lucky man. I see every game in this series as a 50-50 coin flip.

I will be very impressed if the Bruins are able to make a series of it after that backbreaking lost in Game one. But if anyone can do it it’s the bruins.

Yeah it seems like when a battle starts bad for me it stays bad or worse.  But when a battle starts bad for my opponent he often recovers.  :|

Did u look at the dispute with Me1945?

  • Yes sir, and answered like the true diplomat I am  :-D

Yes sir, and answered like the true diplomat I am  :-D

    well said

i totally agree - i really don’t like things going to the moderators, but he immediately stated that’s what needed to happen if i didn’t agree to what he wanted (and I am still not exactly sure what that is that he wants, except apparently to win the game at all costs).  :-)

not going to the game now, too risky with the baby coming any moment - gave my seat to my mom - she’s extremely excited  :-)

  • Congratulations! Is this your first?

My daughter was just joking with me this morning (she’s 7) that it would have been interesting if her birthday was on father’s day… it looks like you’ll be very close!  :-)

Congratulations again, Bold - best thing that ever happened to me was having a family, so I’m happy for you.

Hmmm… now I’m thinking that the extra seven Japanese aircraft last turn was a fantastic present to you!

  • 12

geez i just realized, i totally forgot to destroyer block in z19

well, that pretty much makes up for my bad luck in game 1 i’d say.

  • 12

actually, my plan was to put the anzac cruiser in z19 and for whatever reason, when i did anzac i forgot about it.

  • 12

always a big risk when you plan to use anzac to block a big attack because (especially if a lot of time happens between the USA and anzac move) it can be totally forgotten by the time you move anzac.  sheesh.

my second.  i have a little girl that turns 2 on July 8th.

  • 12

Still, you getting to kill off that fleet is a net positive to you probably.  really sets back the US pacific push.  just totally forgot to move the anzac cruiser (the one that hurt you early ).

  • 12

    @Boldfresh:

Oh geez fotgot u had a bomber.  Let the sloppiness begin.

ironic huh - that i stated it right before posting the anzac move.  this has always been my achilles heel - i often get ahead and start getting sloppy.

so ypu’re in a constant state of exhaustion, which is about to double?  :-)  My condolences… but the best exhaustion I ever felt.

As to Anzac and blockers - yes your momentum has been taken for the time, but it still came at a terrible cost for me, so in the end it turned out to be a valuable mistake   Happens sometimes, as you know ~

my second.  i have a little girl that turns 2 on July 8th.

  • Messed up that quote…

  • 12

yes in a constant state of exhaustion but yes kids are so worth it.

taking this to the top - trying to get back to it!
