I just don’t feel like I am winning. I look at the board in my basement in passing throughout the day and feel like this game could last all summer:)
Germany makes more than america and only have to defend the mainland. Mainland being all of Europe and Russia. UK is still recovering. Japan will stay where they are at unless america puts some money over there and now the Russian threat up north is dissappearing. I guess I have to find the right time to try to take Japan out and not compromise the Europe side. Maybe that is now:)

Something I’ve found through many games with Infrastructure is that we often look at the board and say 'you’re winning!" followed by “no, you’re winning!”. My wife makes fun of us about it…
The thing is, when I said I felt that you were winning, it was before the German turn. Once the turn was done, I felt better about the game. But! You have all of your turns with US/China/UK/Anzac coming… so by the end of the turn it might feel like you’re winning again.
I alays try to evaluate games at the end of complete game turns, so that every country will have a chance to spend money, attack, and reposition themselves. I feel that gives the best overview.

OK. There were a couple things that came up in that turn.
1. French Central Africa - I attacked with 1 bomber on your 1 inf and 2 bombers. I got the first hit so I removed 1 of your bombers cause I assumed you would have wanted the inf to defend till the end with a 2. Turns out you got a hit on that same roll. You can choose and edit what you would have done.
2. I tried to move the Chinese fighter to a different spot after going past the NCM part of my move and the edit function doesn’t allow me to edit a chinese fighter back into the game. So now we just have to remember where he is…… Kwiechow :x Lesson learned… don’t edit the chinese fighter!!!
3. I had forgotten to NCM the Russian tanks and tac. I moved them to the correct spot. It no effect on the Japan turn but if you feel it was to late then you can edit them back in.
So you and infrastructure live near each other and play live games also? Thats pretty cool. I tried to get my buddy to play but he thinks triple a messed up his computer. I told him that it is almost 10 years old… your computer just sucks:)

#1 yes to keeping the bomber, and I edited it back in. If you had two aircraft attacking, I would probably lose a bomber first… or if you had the ability to do a follow up, etc. I wouldn’t have attacked in the first place, actually, if you’d had more than one aircraft in range - German bombers are too precious, but it was worth losing one to me to slow down UK economy and make you use other forces to get Africa boac.

#3 no problem with NCMs, etc - I play by the same spirit as playing together at the table, and I’d always be ok with something like that in a face to face game.
As to Infra and I - yes, we live about an hour apart, and have been playing some form of A&A together for about 17 or 18 years. Now we both have kids, so things have slowed down… way less Jamesons and Guiness would be one example… :-D

Well. I just don’t see how I can stop Germany from pushing through to Cairo. I am gonna do my best to make it a bloody battle though :evil:
That awful start is starting to show its ugly teeth now. Those few extra turns of controlling Cairo really made a huge difference. Also your great play with Italy!!! I feel like I have just been chasing you all over the place distracting me from Cairo. I had to do it though. You really left me no choice. You have done an awesome job dictating MY moves. Making me do what is less important to my main goal.
I actually have a J4 strat that would work perfect with your G4. Cairo would be yours no problem! I would say look at my other game but I got diced so hard on UK Pacifics first turn. They attacked unprovoked so it ruined the whole strat. Its good though cause it helped me see the worst case scenario (losing a 94% chance battle) with my first move. Easy to solve. By J4 you would have like 8-10 loaded transports that you could head for Calcutta with, if it was available, or move on cairo.
It can be shocking how fast Allied forces can pool in the Middle East area, so I’m taking nothing for granted… plus dice are still involved, so nothing has been decided :-) However, Germany has 22 aircraft, a hold on the NOs, and a rapid mobile force.
My problem is that it’s been easy for me in the past to get distracted and do things that seem smart but end up not making a difference… you can see how easy it would be for me right now to spen too many resources attacking China to revive Japan… but the object is Cairo. Even if Japan were to fall, 8 VCs = a win.
Man, you don’t know how many games it took me to learn that lesson.
I’m very interested in your complimentary Japanese J4 play - maybe at some point we could find a way to take on two other people 2 on 2? You and I could play the Axis and work out the finer points… I’m up for that if we could carve out the time and find a couple victims to play the Allies… :wink:
