you don’t have to save the map file into the ga3.gim folder, it can be anywhere.
i usually don’t open the save game files by double clicking. i open the battle map program and use file then open and then select the saved game map.
it is important that the ga3.gim folder be under whereever abattlemap folder was installed on your pc. it is also imporant that all contents of the download file are uncompressed into that folder.

Sorry to butt in, but here are detailed steps I used to open the file.
Download ABattleMap 0.80 installer from http://www.abattlemap.com/ and install it.
You can install it any directory but my examples will assume you pick the default location of C:\Program Files\ABattleMap
Download http://www.axisandallies.us/GA3.zip and extract the contents into a directory called GA3.gim under the ABattleMap install directory, for example C:\Program Files\ABattleMap\GA3.gim\
The directory will have a number of files and directories for example C:\Program Files\ABattleMap\GA3.gim\MapInfo.txt
Download G1.AAM file uploaded by corriganbp on this thread. Save it somewhere on your computer, for instance in My Documents\gamefiles then launch AbattleMap and do File -> Open and browse to G1.AAM

112 was a nasty break for you that happens in only 1 out of 4 games, lose 1 ftr, dmg the bb
Paris taken with 4 tanks. Most of the time, you can take Paris without losing your tanks and even keeping some of your artillery. Very nasty break.
I am not sure if I would always go for sea lion under this opening since:
1.) Loss of tactical bomber – 1 in 4 chance
2.) Loss of all but 4 tanks in Paris when expected outcome was keep 5 tanks and 2 artillery
3.) The loss of the tank and artillery significantly reduces the fire power that I can bring.Collect 41 + 10 + 19 (French booty) = 70 ipcs in pocket
Sorry to butt in corriganbp, but as a Sea Lion guru (no disrespect, you have helped perfect it IMO), if you took that kind of loss on a normal bases because of UK naval rearrangement (as Krieghund suggested), and a beefed up France/Normandy, would it kill Sea lion, or just make it harder to pull off? I guess this game will have some insight on that now that it has resumed and those losses were caused by the dice as a simulation.

The dice can be cruel. As someone who routinely loses battles that the odds calculators round to 100%, I would be crazy to stay that anything is 100% - but yeah, it’s harder but still achievable with much better than 50% odds. At this point, too many variables to tell you exactly what it is. I think that the naval rearrangement will change my opening naval attacks. I might send a single sub into 106 now for example, and then that becomes a 50-50 battle against the cruiser (the sneak attack compensates almost exactly for the defense at 3).
Germany requires a certain amount of “fair weather” round 1 (I’m not talking about getting lucky, just talking about getting average or slightly above average rolls) to have it worth risking. I’m not opposed to going for Barbarossa rather than a foolish sea lion. Given his opening R1 purchases, and my opening loss of a ftr and a tank and all my artillery, if I go for it, it’s really just because this particular game is supposed to be all about sea lion game.

Incidentally, I’ve always had in my back pocket, one move that will help to increase the chances, depending on how he defends, but as is the case with most of those moves, it hurts the axis position post sea lion, and then there is the concern about whether or not that puts you over the tipping point.
